Song Description

Thanks to Rik's information, we are able to help the MacJams City community fight off Dr Lioli's sinister device.

We have constructed a machine, based on the Walking Clav loop, that we lovingly call the F.L.O.W.E.R. / P.O.W.E.R. We also utilize the numerological and symbolic power of the three most powerful geek numbers, the eighth dimensional reasoning of Buckaroo Bansai, the metaphysics of Vaughn Bode, and a bicycle bell.

The idea is that the beam from Dr Lioli's weapon gets captured earthside and spun back out to his satellite much amplified and ninety-one degrees out of phase with reality. As a result, a duplex feedback loop is formed (see picture).

Of course, it's in the key of F.

SINED
SEELED
DELIVERED

All we need is the go-ahead to flip the power switch.

Lima Beans! &mdash 09/24/08 - 09:57:57 PM
I thought Lima was in Peru? Doesn't matter, Dr. Lioli absolutely detests lima beans from India. 13 plus 42 does not equal 69, which means that the Dr. isn't getting any... Perhaps that's why he is so grumpy!

Love it!

Drakonis

RIP DR LIOLI - again - maybe we will get him this time!

thanks Eduard

Not getting any &mdash 09/27/08 - 01:41:19 PM
That would not only explain the grumpiness, but the absolutely awful fashion choices. Maybe the hat is supposed to be some kind of a.... well.... representation of.... well, the size of hats.

And he does detest Lima beans, I'm sure.

Sounds &mdash 09/24/08 - 10:12:23 PM
Some sounds are great for the melody, the harmony or the rhythm. This has all that, but the sound just feels good. Electronica at it's best.

time tunnel? &mdash 09/24/08 - 10:29:58 PM
what a sound track - embellished - of those sfi fi & secret agent shows from the sixties & early 70's that I use to get a kick out off. cool tune Bill.

I think you got him, Bill. &mdash 09/25/08 - 09:37:08 AM
Take that lovely computer voice out on the town to celebrate. We are in your debt. Thanks. It really is an enjoyable piece of music for those of us who aren't evil.

it's genius. made me smile when the riff pulled me out of my reverie. i like how you extended it before the walk down. those pads work great with it, are those the GB horns? you make me wonder why i bothered upgrading to Logic.

Cool &mdash 09/26/08 - 07:55:12 PM
Very cool sounds. You take the loop apart and put it together a couple time here, in very artful fashion. Like this synth work a lot.

Thanks
Bill

you have a lot of fun :)

Perhaps we should employ this weapon against Bin Laden.

Way to go Bill &mdash 09/27/08 - 12:06:14 AM
You've got the Dr on the run with this one for sure. There's no way he's gonna be able to have his Polka Karaoke Park now. Heck, I think I might start running in a minute. That's some scary things you did to that loop, but it all fits together nicely and works great.

Very creative my friend and very cool.

Very Interesting &mdash 09/27/08 - 12:35:48 PM
I like the way you have used the walking clav loop esp to create the layers. Very disco sounds esp the synths. Cool track.

Never Had A Chance &mdash 09/27/08 - 01:53:51 PM
...did he?

This really reminds me of a Euro-disco outfit called Voyage back in the late '70s - they'd build these luscious layers of rhythm that pulsed and smoked over a specific theme built around a certain idea. "Scotch Machine" was my fav - still have it on dusty vinyl somewhere...

This is the first piece I've listened to, and I'm delighted and amazed that something so musically fresh and exciting could come out of that loop. The build is thrilling and full of good-guys-coming-to-the-rescue with a late-sixties cartoon show feel..... you know, where the heroes would suddenly have an interlude where they inexplicably become a rock band and play weird instruments against a psychedelic background.

Beautiful piece of music! And your science was rock-solid spot-on.

..I think I'm stoned now. I guess that's what they call a natural high? SVW does it again, GREAT STUFF (as usual)

All it takes is one sick puppy &mdash 09/27/08 - 03:44:31 PM
and Dr. L is toast. Thank god we've got a whole mess of them around here. Bill this is truly inspired. The whole DR. L lioli challenge has produced some of the strangest efforts MJ has ever seen and this is up there with the best oh them.

definitely &mdash 09/27/08 - 05:33:20 PM
has the sound of the makings of a lethal weapon. This should do it.

The long name will stump his computers &mdash 09/27/08 - 09:43:01 PM
while trying to parse it out and figure out it's meaning. The short name will blow them away, literally. This is another of the reserve weapons I will keep to insure victory over the Dr.

Excellent thinking here
