.. catchy power pop US style - very catchy, youthful exuberance. Big market for this, lots of competition... that aside .. I thought this was well written, well sung and sold performances. My only nit was on the drum production overall.. needs some work to bring it up to a par with the rest... sounds to me like you need at least 3 mics on the drums and to treat each separately: snare, bass and one overhead (say). I'm no drum recording expert .. but I would suggest giving springclock a shout (to name one) for some tips & tricks, as this is really good.
Could you go into detail on how you hear the drums? Would love to hear what you think exactly....I did have a mic on snare, kick and two overheads. They sound fine here on my monitors, in my car, computer (at least to me) but I could be missing something COMPLETELY. Of course, it could be the stream here, too I suppose????

.. on the drums: they sound a little dry/raw/naked to me on my monitors (Yamaha MSP3s): the natural ambience/space captured doesn't blend with the processed sound of the other instruments imho (though it's a fine drum recording per se .. just doesn't gel as well as it might with the rest) - it's perhaps a taste thing, but to my ears it isn't the drum sound I'd expect along side the rest... perhaps effecting them with some reverbs used on some of the other instruments??, to create illusion the drums are played in the same physical space... they have a slight 'over-dubbed on at the end' twinge to them, if you 'hear' what I'm getting at... still this is a small nit .. but takes a while to explain :o)
I hear ya completely....thanks for the honest advice. I will remember all this as I continue to learn. The snare does pop out at you a bit and that might be a lot of it. I really struggled with snare sound and honestly I have messed with this tune for so long I was just ready to get it out and "be done with it." It's not like this will end up on the radio or in an attempt to get a deal or anything....just having some fun. THANKS!

I thought the drums were fine. I thought that the vocals got drowned out sometimes. And to me, hearing those great lyrics is what is important. I liked it very much. Thank you.

This song just sounds great. Very clean and polished. I agree with the other posters-- the vocals are a little buried. The drums quite a bit too loud and separate from the rest of the mix.
I would have loved for the song to be longer! It ends too soon...
