About this song... I’ve never played it anywhere... it’s only ever rattled around insde my head... but I still know it pretty well... and it recorded about the way I heard it... about the only thing that was different... i heard the big crunchy guitar all the way through... and when it came time to mix.. i edited that out until the end... OH about the end ... sorry about the cheesy prop... but the way I see this song... It’s Gino Vanelli at best (Storm at Sunup).. or more likely Michael Bolton at worse... enough to get you kicked off Macjams... too much drama... I thought seriously about cutting this as a country tune.. you know kicked my dog ect.

anyway... I’m very happily married, and marrige is sacred... just the same... I really don’t want to play this for my wife... she wouldn’t get this on any level... and I don’t endorse this behavior, although, it’s a very accurate autobiography, that I wouldn’t want to re-live... and the episode was a strange route to healing and resolution..

I haven’t had my studio on for at least six months.. I’ve been going thru a few things that have sapped my energy, and I just don’t want to write about any of it yet... so I tapped into some of the current dark to get this out... again I’m not complaining... these are the things life throws at you... If your going to open your mouth and write songs about hope, you should expect to be tested... talk is cheap

if anyone ever wanted to put a real sax on this.. it would certainly be welcomed.... Ed?

Great to cyber see you... guilty as charged... I let it seep into the music sometimes... but in real life I keep my eyes on the road, at this point... although I've been known to fall asleep at the wheel...

that's a great sax emulation.. sounds a little reminiscent of Bob Mintzer.

I think a lot of us relate to what you've put down here. Fortunately, I managed to lay my regrets down to rest about a year or two ago as I figured out that there's no way it could have worked.

Good production, good songwriting skills, and the vocals rock. Nice job, my friend. :)

it's just the stock sax that comes with the logic sampler.. played on the keyboard... i tweeked it a bit to give it some imperfections... I'll get you something to work with....

the low end of the guitar, elect guitar, bass = full and complete.
Plus the singing is delightful !

To be honest I didn't know it was you Scott until I started hearing this tune and I heard this James Taylor sound (but all your style for sure), but I was listening and said this has got to be scott, but nobody nails this sound on this sight like you do. And sure enough I looked down at the post and saw that you replied to people's post. This stuff is amazing to me, plain and simple. There is no difference in professionalism that I can see between you and James TAylor, in fact you could very well be MORE talented than him.

To me it would be really hard with this type of talent you have not to be depressed having not made tons of money touring and filling concert halls all over the world. Not that you dont' make a lot of money doing what you do! But you are simple one of the very best talents i've ever hear on the internet for this type of terrific and infectious style, very powerful, very pro.

If I was in your shows and I had this type of talent I would find it hard, very hard to accept rejection.

Maybe you don't get any rejection , but if you do for what you are doing, I just hope the powers that be in the music industry WAKE UP and SMELL those wonderful SCOTT Carmichael music popular roses!

Sorry that I've been around so little lately... time has been a valuable currency that I don't have the latitude to spend at will... or I would be around more...

I had a record contract years ago... it caused writers block, more or less... no body's fault but mine... but to have folks telling you who your "target market" is.. and how to wear your hair... what you should wear.... etc. took all the joy out of why I ever did this in the first place... I heard someone say recently.. "everyone should have a something that they do that they don't want to sell"... it's why people garden... this is my garden. I can't help but to pick up my guitar and write... by the way very little of what I do ends up as a song... most of the stuff just floats out into the either.. but my point is that... i haven't been rejected.. I have never shopped this stuff around. I get a certain joy from creating this stuff with no strings attached or expectations.... and my daily bread is taken care of in ways that make me marvel... that money thing is a double edge sword.. I make it a point to give it away as fast as it comes in... I am owned by nothing... and I've been tested in this... as far as the "filling the concert halls" thing is concerned... I've played to crowds of 30 & 40 thousand people, and it doesn't match the thrill I get playing every Sunday morning to family... I'm aware that this makes me sound like a dope... but life will distract us with illusions... have you ever watched "Where are they now"... they've all been in rehab... apparently that sort of success just doesn't satisfy...

anyway thanx Bill... to be compared with JT is gratifying... I can listen to him way more than myself... and it means a lot to me that this stuff stands up to pro standards in your ears... that's the real test for me.. trying to make music on the computer that can mimic the stuff in the real world...

wow... I went on there for awhile... I better shut up
