Description:
this is the song which started it all for me. i had written this song several years ago, when i was looking for faith. faith in anything. i was freshly divorced, had a long line of religious failures behind me, and i sat wondering if there was anything worth believing in this world..i found that the one thing worth putting your life on the line for, and all your faith in was love. i believed it in my heart of hearts, and it was the basis for RK. at first i thought of the concept of an 8-song modern romeo and juliet, and it turned into a three-act opera about love, hate, faith and retribution all in the name of love.
this was my first GB production, so enjoy, and be gentle when you give me your critiques....: )

Lyrics:
Heart of Hearts

Walking in my shadow
Talking to myself
Clawing with my fingernails to the surface

How do I get to the other side?
How do I find out what’s in my soul?
My Heart of Hearts

Cursing at the mirror
Dying outside in
Looking for a reason to start up again

How do I get to the other side?
How do I find out what’s in my soul?
My Heart of Hearts
Heart of
Heart of
Heart of
My heart of hearts.

Hardware:
Imac, M-audio interface and keyboard, and speakers and anything else i could find with a tiny blue light on it...
line 6 podxt, cause it is the best shit on the planet, ibanez guitar, because it is killer once slightly modified with seymour duncan pickups...mxl990 vocal mic, cause it cam with the previous recoding package i bought and it turned out to be a killer little vocal mic, very balanced...rogue bass, cause it was 100 dollars, u.s.

Software:
GB3, Drums on Demand loops, i dare you to find easier and better sounding loops for heavy music, and i dont mean modules, dammit...

But I intend to listen to the entire body of work. This is impressive- in every way. Instrumentation is killer but it's the vocal and harmonies that bring it all together for me. I love heavy music with such a strong sense of melody.

I'm looking forward to getting deeper into this!

heavy man. Nice work here though you could bring up the drums a bit. I would liked to have heard some falsetto vox backup with yout chours line coming in at "get to etc." and "find out etc." and continueing unto the end.

Great voice and axe chops. Will keep an ear up for what you have here next.

things like thunder, tectonic plates, and afterburners come to mind. Really a stunner tune. So very well produced. Passionate playing all over, but the guitar is my favorite.

those guitars are amazing, huge harmonies at work there, they almost sound like an organ. bass sounds great too. you are the metal master of MJ, no complaints about the song or production at all. well actually maybe a little more volume in the drums would be nice. how many projects you got going? get some sleep bro. great track.

this song was posted here about a year ago under another name, The Rad Project. when i came back to Macjams after a few months off, i decided that my work on the opera deserved its own home, so i posted all of the first act again on this page. i am glad you came out to listen and thanks for the kind words..

Excellent job taking all the "in your face" sounds you have here and bridling them with some fine production skills.

It's not fair for one person to have the voice and chops that you have!

AD, sweet stuff. I'm not a huge fan of metal but the Operatic European stuff I get in to. This is definitely something I enjoyed. A little less metal sounding but Tremonti's Alter Bridge work reminds me of your guitar sound a bit too. Overall this is a great track I really enjoyed it. Great Vox, Great Guitar, Great Production.
