Description:
Well I decided to take part in this challenge and this is what developed over the course of the week. It originally started out as something else entirely and then when I came up with the title I couldn't resist adding these samples. The loop is actually running through the whole thing as a clavinet part but with some heavy filters on it. About the samples; I really don't mean to disrespect the candidates running for office, and as I put this together I started to develop sort of warm feelings about Gov. Palin and Sen. McCain as people. If what I put together seems funny, I hope if they were to hear this they would think it funny too. It takes a more melancholy feeling at the end when the strings take over, I guess. I get tired of all this bickering, too. I play guitar and the rest is entirely loops. Somehow there's little clips or other odd artifacts in the guitar track, but I decided to post this anyway as I'm going away on a business trip this weekend and probably won't have a chance to figure them out and fix them.

As one who has stayed off the heavy political threads. This is light enough that the candidates should be honored to have been included rather than offended. Who ever wins, I hope they do a good job and your melancholy ending does not become prophetic.
Thanks

It reminds me of The Art of Noise, what with the soundbites and all.

I heard way to much from John tonight and this captured my feeling of him talking in circles perfectly. Don't know if that was your attempt but it worked for me.

Love the way you put this together from all the loops and sound bites. It has a really nice feel to it and flows easily form one part to the next.
Nice bit of work here my friend with a cool mellow vibe to it.

I can't get all the political side of the song .
Love the sounds and the melody in the back they bring some dream and thinking to all these fights .

I still cringe every time I hear Palin.

like McCain is singing in key.

just masterful the way you weave the audio and ambient music bed. Rich in sonic texture and whimsy. I would have been better watching the debate with the sound off and listening to this instead.

...this makes me feel like i'm watching a movie on todays events, from somewhere else...a few hundred years in the future. like past tense..ERIE. Great overall production Jim.

I really like this tune, the music is really nice and deep. The vocals work really well and have been put together very cleverly. Nice one, thoroughly enjoyed esp the building delay bit.

The depth grows slowly and takes you by surprise... I love how the audio pieces are perfect counterpoints to the gentle, flowing music. The shallow inanity of Palin's comments grows starker when the music surrounds them - accidental or deliberate, I don't know. Sometimes these counterpoints develop their own languages when they speak to us...
Absolutely love this. How you got something with so much depth and subtlety out of that popping loop...... but that's what happens with Loop It Or Lose It. Great, great job.

by the creativity it took and the reserve you had to to maintain. A light touch and a touching commentary. Thanks.
It sets the stage for a conversation and then leave you realizing there is no one there. The Dr. will not know how to react to this one. He spend an inordinate amount of Windoz processing time trying to figure it out, and before he does his systems will crash abd the battle will be all over.
Very good approach that I'm sure will play a vital role in the Dr.;s defeat

very different than your usual work and that's what lioli is all about. I really like the way you manipulated the samples and handled the loop. Very cool.

.. enjoying the LIOLIs so far .... always like it when someone adds some interesting little sound clips .. and you did a stellar job .... being Canadian unfortunately our election is far less interesting than your election .... it was compared on the news the other night ... US full of hollywood glitz and glamour and lots of people clapping ... our election full of dull politicos droning ... sigh .... ah well .. thank god for LIOLI ... makes it all interesting .... I like your work here ! (might just be me .... but parts of it reminded me of the scene in Midnight Express where they were "walkin the wheel" .... ).

You never leave me bored. Big Fan. Now can you do one with all the ridiculous questions they are asked? That would be fun, I think. Enjoyed, nice post.

just getting the time together to listen to these, this is really nice. love that guitar (?) sound. very nice track, i can barely make out the loop ( a really good thing). this is very different for you, and my fave so far.

this is a great treatment on the loop. It actually sounded really cool the way it was tagged in there at the end. The track as a whole is very tense and ominous. Well done.
It's nice to have you join in on the fun of these challenges! I thought it was clever to have those samples in there. Maybe it's just me, but the clip "... and I'll bring 'em to ya" sounds almost sarcastic with the emphasis on the "ya". (sorry off-topic I guess)
The guitar sounds so smooth and rich. I did hear some of those artifacts you mentioned, but I thought they were in the samples at first.
Enjoyed this one very much!

cool tune.
that "i'll try to find some..." is cracking me up! it's like Deep Forest in a way. wonderful!
great strings. and i love tunes that incorporate voices - this is excellent.
