Satellite (6)Loops (147)Captain Sloparts (1)
Description:
Messing With The Machine-LIOLI 8 Challenge

This is Captain S, MacJams City CIA reporting:

I've been trying to infiltrate Dr Lioli's satellite servicing facility and slip onto one of the resupply ships in hopes of being able mount an attack in orbit. I'm going to try to destroy Dr. LIOLI's LOPMAL-CARSAP System from inside the satellite. With any luck at all, I might even be able to take out the satellite itself.

I've armed myself with the loop that Rik Berryere discovered is what we need to put an end to this threat once and for all, the dreaded "Walking Clav 01" loop. But just to be on the safe side, I've also brought along some other ammunition. I discovered the loops that were used in the LIOLI 2 and LIOLI 7 challenges, the "70's Ballad Piano" and the "80's Rock Guitar 01" loops. I'll use them in my assault as well.

I reworked the "Walking Clav 01" loop by both slowing it down to half speed, and speeding it up to twice the speed it normally runs at. I'm hoping that this will allow me to bypass any security lockouts the Dr. may have in place. By fooling the system into not recognizing the loop in one of these forms, I might be able to get it into the system. I'm hoping the other two LIOLI loops will help to confuse the MCP (Master Control Program) long enough for the "Walking Clav 01" loop to do it's work and send the LOPMAL-CARSAP System into an Massive Internal Digital Overload Loop. ( MIDOL )

My weapon of choice is comprised of 55 tracks of which 32 are sound effects from various sources. These are meant to confuse or otherwise distract the MCP and allow the remaining 23 music tracks to get in and do their work. Twenty (20) of these are there to provide camouflage for the 3 critical attack tracks with the LIOLI challenge loops in them. Of these 3, 2 are from the Lioli 2 and 7 challenges, which will further confuse the MCP, and the last is the actual attack loop suggested by Rik as the weakness in the machine that can be exploited. What we have here is the classic three tiered attack, (bada-bing, bada-bam, bada-Boom).

I have an escape route planned, but there are no guarantees, so if I don't make it out before the satellite can self destruct, play a little ditty for me on the bagpipes, and get on with the music. This is war. We can all stop and take time to lick our wounds after the battle is over.

Wish me luck Super Loopers.

MacJams City Forever !

Captain S, signing off

I hope you enjoy this little fantasy attack on the Evil Dr.'s Satellite and his LOPMAL-CARSAP System. It was a lot of fun to build this and even more fun to listen to it. I also had a great time figuring out this little scenario, but I think that is probably evident by now. ;-)

Be well,

CSP

p.s. It ain't over till Number 9 says it is, so let it play out.

This was the main piece I was doing for this challenge. It was more fun than anything I've done in a while, and even better when I listen to it.

Glad you came to visit and listen to this one my friend. Thanks again for the kind words, they are appreciated.

Be well and be cool,

Ed

It's just not right to do this, but &mdash 09/27/08 - 10:06:40 AM
here goes. I think this CaptSloParts is a little unstable based on this piece of work. It's clear to me he's off his meds and in need of some serious help. I wonder if they have a health care plan over at MacJams City CIA. If they do this CaptSloParts need to avail himself of it post haste'

I won't comment on the music because I don't want to encourage him in any way, except to say it sounds pretty cool to me. But then again, what do I know.

that I'll (cough cough, smoke from burning weapons console) end up triumphing over (distant explosion) your so-called Super Loopers (shower of sparks) because if you and I were to team up, Captain...... come on over to the Dark Side! We have a great dessert buffet, you know (alarm klaxons going off) and we could defeat MacJams together if we -(sudden explosion)

Very cool &mdash 09/27/08 - 07:23:43 PM
Lovely use of the different sound samples, and the drums and bass are terrific - a really funky approach. Some really sweet guitar that just soars! If anything can blow the evil doctor's mind, this it it. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

I'm hoping my trip to the space station wasn't in vain. I could hear the explosions going on inside the station over the radio as I was leaving, but I'm not sure if we got him. I can tell you this, he was having system failures and blue screens of death all over the place on his Windoz Systems. Made it almost impossible for me to get the "Walking Clav 01" loop disrupter into the machine to try and destroy it. Still not sure it worked.

Okay now to this piece. I jettisoned a copy of it from my return capsule before re-entry and was not sure it would make it, but just in case I didn't make it, I wanted CIA HQ to know what I had tried to do.

I appreciate you taking time to review the material to make sure it's intact, but CIA HQ already has the copy I kept with me in the capsule and are checking out the results of the attack.

Thanks again Super Looper

For Such An Intimidating Guy &mdash 09/27/08 - 10:37:31 PM
...you can really get a groove on, Cap. There's a LOT going on here, kind of like a mini-operatic piece that tells an epic story... I feel like I'm 16 and watching Star Wars on the big screen. (And I mean REAL Star Wars, when it was just Star Wars, not 'Star Wars:Episode Whatever:Some Cryptic Pointless Title'.......)

Glad you're on our side, Cap.

We all do what we can to save our fair city. I just do it a little more aggressively than most. But then again, I've been here longer than anyone else on this planet.

I've run into these kinds of beings before and I know they all have one great weakness that always gets them. Arrogance ! That and a silly desire to be the ruler of everything and especially Polka Karaoke Parks. Darned if I can figure that one out. Seems like every one of the dirty boogers I've run into over the millennia always want a Polka Park of some kind. Must be something in the genes.

But I digress. Thank you and all the Super Loopers for the massive effort put forth to rid this place of such and evil and cantankerous old fuddy duddy. If bad taste were a disease, he'd be terminally ill.

I contributed my part as well and I appreciate the acknowledgment, but it is not necessary. MacJams City being safe is all the thanks I need.

Be well Super Loopers. Until the next time you need me,

Captain SloParts Signing off.

Really good use of the Lioli samples, and love all the other samples like the space rocket and 'Enter Data Now' and the Battlestar Galatica robot sample. I really like the story you have made of the track, very good. Very impressed.

Wanted something special for this one, I had a vested interest in seeing it come to a positive conclusion. I like it here at MacJams and I don't all the Jammer's profiles to be wiped out.

Thanks to listening and for the kind words on this one Keith, it is appreciated.

Be well and be cool my friend

I needed to have enough going on so Dr. LIOLI's MCP wouldn't catch on to what I was really doing, planting a virus in his machine.

Glad you enjoyed my work on this one, and thanks again for the kind words on it.

Be well and be cool my friend,

Thanks you Chris &mdash 09/28/08 - 09:18:19 PM
It took a while to figure out how to hide that awful loop and yet still have it in there to do it's work. Then I got to thinking, the best way to do that is to bury it in something so funky that the loop wouldn't stand out but just disappear into the music. Hence that funky feel to this.

Thanks for listening my friend and for the kind words on it. It is appreciated.

Be well and be cool,

I can hear that you are holding nothing back. Dr LIOLI is doomed. All I can say is that it is a good thing you are on our side!!

Well, the pay is good here in the CIA, and you get to meet a lot of interesting people on this world. So I think I'll stay here for a while longer. As to taking sides, I always go with the winner, and you Super Loopers are that for sure, Winners in spades.

Thanks for the kind words and for listening to the rants of an old super spy.

(Oops, not supposed to say that. Forget everything I've said here. I'm swearing you to secrecy, do you understand me).

I've always wanted to use that whole FX loop library in a tune....you found the perfect opportunity to do that here. Ahh and that trademark blistering guitar work! Great playing, great sounds.

Thanks Willy &mdash 09/28/08 - 09:31:05 PM
Sometimes the best way to hide something is in plain sight. No one every thinks to look for it there. That's what I did here. The Dr. was looking in all the corners and edges, out on the extremes of the music. What he didn't do was look right down the middle. If he had, he's have found that awful loop staring him in the face.

Oh well, you lose Dr.

Thanks again for listening my friend and for the very nice comments on this one. Glad you enjoyed the show.

Be well and be cool,

Ed

Thanks Michael &mdash 09/29/08 - 05:08:22 PM
I'm not too surprised by the entries, we have some very talented folks here in the City. And when the call goes out they always seem to be able to win the day.

This was an interesting experience to say the least, but I'm not at liberty to reveal my sources, if any, when it comes to tactical resources. I will say that both Jan and Jeff told me to say hello to you specifically, and they would to know when and where you next gig is.

You can give the information to me if you like and I'll see to it they get it as soon as they return to the planet.

Keep watch and stay tuned my friend,

CSP

Your comment is noted and appreciated my friend.

Glad you enjoyed the track Mike. It was a lot of fun to do it and even after I finished it, I still enjoyed listening to it my self.

But CIA regulations prohibit me from becoming too friendly during these trying times, so I'll end with a simple, but heartfelt Thank You

Thanks Bill &mdash 09/30/08 - 10:53:46 PM
This is an actual recording of the events that took place while I was on my mission to Dr. LIOLI's satellite/space station. Other than that I'm not allowed to give you any further information.

However, since you were so kind in your comments, I will make an exception.

As I said the audio is a live feed from the re-supply ship I managed to sneak on to, from Dr. LIOLI's space station, and from the escape pod I used to get back to MacJams City.

Because this was a LIOLI operation, all the music used to camouflage the "Walking Clav 01" loop was also done with loops, in the spirit of the challenge.

As for the C-4, all MacJams City CIA agents has easy access to it, and I had procured some from HQ before leaving for the Cosmodrome. I was carrying 4 of the M-112 sticks with me when I boarded the Spacecraft. I didn't feel it necessary to take any more than that since we already new the Dr.'s space station was controlled by a Windoz computer. It doesn't take much to crash one of those.

As far as the outro is concerned, that was a composite recording of my radio calls from the escape capsule I had commandeered, and a transmitter I had left on in the Q37 control room onboard the space station so I could monitor the progress of the virus I had planted in the system. It always pay to know if your target has been destroyed, and monitoring the comm system can help to give you that info.

Thank you again Bill for your interest in this mission. It's Super Loopers like you that make our job in the MacJams CIA so much easier. It is appreciated I assure you.

CSP - clear
