Squeezed a Bit Of... &mdash 09/29/08 - 10:45:51 AM
Stephen Stills into this, but managed to take it in some unusual and interesting places.

I wonder what some complementary double-time lead part might sound like on top of this? Hmm... ;)

The lingering ringing of the strings, and the strong tumbling dancing of your fingers, creates gorgeous music, as always. Wonderful playing and recording. Good to see you back here... hope all is going well for you and your sweetie.

I really like &mdash 09/29/08 - 11:22:01 AM
the natural, unhurried and intimate sound of acoustic guitar. It is lovely to hear the sounds of your skillful plucking and strumming. Thank you.

Yes &mdash 09/29/08 - 02:08:08 PM
Yes, when I was young (early 70-s) Stephen Stills was a great idol for me .. maybe the only real grand musical hero I ever had .. so you spotted it so right ..

Thanks you also J.A.Stewart -- because still today I somewhat flattered when someone draw references to Mr. Stills.. :)

Great aural field! &mdash 09/29/08 - 07:40:50 PM
The wood does have a nice voice; I think the voice coach must be outstanding;-). Real pleasure this one, Mr. Cori, as are most of yours, but this one's texture is nearly tactile, great job and great production to let me hear those magic fingers.

Welcome back Johannes &mdash 09/30/08 - 03:18:56 AM
Joe is correct in his Stills reference. You sound as though you have a slightly more aggressive attack on this than a lot of your earlier posts Curry. Its so good to hear the beautiful sound of your playing again. The Yamaha sounds so good - hard to believe they are nylon strings.

Great post!!

Best wishes from Australia!

Thnxalot Neil for your warm welcome back!

Well actually those strings are made from different materials - nylon and metals. Different strings have different materials. But they are thin enough to be used on a nylon type guitar without causing damage..

Great sound, Johannes... &mdash 09/30/08 - 10:03:42 AM
...that AG Stomp is a great interface. Very much like the sound of a straight mic. Very, very impressive.

Big, big sound from that Yamaha...

Strong track...glad to hear from you, again.

Tuning? &mdash 10/01/08 - 10:14:02 AM
Kind of that Jimmy Page acoustic thing. (Special tuning, no doubt.)

I really respect your talent.

You're awesome.

Curry, you sure make nylon strings sing! Wow, my ears are loving this. Simply beautiful acoustic magic. Why are the JP strings strange? They sure sound wonderful here! :-)

felt something missing... &mdash 10/01/08 - 01:09:31 PM
So I'll add a little thoddi;)

Nice to hear that familiar sound from your guitar. You make it sing in a way I've only heard you do. I wonder if you bend the neck while you play? It sometimes sounds like there is a vibrato arm on your acoustic;) It's very cool. The Cori Ander signature sound!

As always you play wonderful music. What did you tune the guitar too? Those nylon strings sound very metallic and carry a nice tone. Enjoyed this very much.

Dropped D &mdash 10/06/08 - 09:51:33 AM
Standard dropped D tuning, (which I use for more than 90% of the time, probably even more than 95%).

You messing around is better than me planning for months to do acoustic music that carries the depth yours does. Damn fine!
