Description:
Life is Grand .....
John Grand is 42 years old, married to wife Norah and they have a young daughter named Katie. John was raised to succeed and has always prided himself on his ability to plan and follow through. The only time this logic has failed him was when he fell in love with Norah. This event had no rules and no plan to follow. It joyously swept him away and he later filed it in his memory under "Never Saw It Coming". John worked hard and with singular dedication establishing a lucrative construction company in Houston, Texas. Big money and fast times. People liked doing business with John Grand. He was a man you felt you could believe in and John found he quiet enjoyed cultivating "believers". Seven years ago Grand Associates was bought by S.C. Ratch. Ratch LTD is an umbrella to a diverse collection of companies and world wide interest. Silas Ratch is an elusive power magnet you loves saying " There are seven opportunities a week to
make money ... Monday through Sunday". John Grand was asked to stay on as a senior vice president over Ratch construction and municipal projects. People still instinctively feel like John Grand is a trustworthy person to deal with and John Grand knows how to grease the proper wheels. John has learned much over the past seven years. He has learned he likes the finer things ..... likes money .... likes living in a power wonderland. Life is good for John Grand.

Performance Note: Vocal solos... Roxylee and Davisamerica2. Guitar solo: Apokafunk. There are some minor microphone glitches as staff sets final levels.

Lyrics:
See How They Run
[Music: Davisamerica Additional Lyrics: Roxylee and Terry Pearson]

Feel that sun just shining down
It shines on me and tells me I am
Too big for you to take down
I am the king of Shiny Town

Oldest secret in the book
Step right up and take a look
Oh ... wait...wait .. wait .. You didn't make it
So sad ! Now, you'll have to fake it
I'm understanding, yes I am
But you are standing on the ground man
I am floating high above you
Wave bye bye, I never saw you
But I really hope you understand
I am such a busy, busy man .... yes I am

See How They Run

Grab that phone and say hello
It's money calling don't you know
You and her should get real tight
She's guaranteed to make it right

Grab that ring. This is your chance
Or you'll be left out of the dance
The deal is going down to nite
It's your hand, so play it right

Mama told you "haste makes waste"
Well check it out. You've had a taste
No regrets, just jump right in
You'll soon forget what your life has been

This was FUN! This song has been in my head since I first heard it. I was thrilled to be able to add a couple verses and sing them. I feel famous now. See how I run to prepare dinner, will be back later to listen to all the songs. Amazing, Jack and everybody.:-)

If this is anything like the rest of it, you've got a hit on your hands.

Roxylee and Davisamerica2 sound fantastic in this and the Guitar solo by Apokafunk screams out.

Love what I here so far.

Powerful and driving &mdash 10/02/08 - 09:30:47 AM
I love the vocals. The guitars are nicely done.

"See how they run" I think of the line from Three Blind Mice. An effective metaphor!

I am now ..... &mdash 10/03/08 - 11:16:20 PM
... on my second listen to the whole show ... and I love the way the three themes seem to play themselves out through all the songs ..... (1) see how they run (2) sex is power and (3) I think I can ... and (4) the kazoo of course - tied the entire project together ! Anyone listening to this - you MUST listen to the entire show to understand.

"see how they run" &mdash 10/05/08 - 10:14:52 AM
right then .... my turn! I am going to try and hit each track and share a bit from what I hear. First .... each one of you guys so deserve a standing ovation. You gave this work so much heart and soul ... as well as some brilliant additions and contributions to the music. Track one was released as an instrumental early summer of 2008. Several things about this track are special to me. Oddly enough .... this final version was completed days before we posted. Terry and Roxy contributed to the final lyrics and Apokafunk [Josh] added this wonderful lead guitar part. The strongest elements here are the vocals and once again our friend Roxylee carried the day with an amazing performance and the backing choir was perfect.
I think the song's strong intro demanded the performers keep up the momentum and they did in aces!

Strong intro. Looking forward to hearing the development of this thing. Sounds big (and strangely Euro-cabaret) so far.......

Damn, now I got to listen to the whole thing! Your open cut demands I listen to this energetic romp.

Knowing their MacJammers, will at least make the ride interesting.

I am pretty much speechless &mdash 10/22/08 - 08:01:45 AM
Jack, first of all, congratulations for mounting such an elaborate adventure, and then getting a bunch of friends together and pulling it off, and on top of that, having it come out so well! I am in awe of so many aspects of this. The story line is well thought out, walks the line of having something important to say without being trite or preachy, and is woven into these vignettes really well. The amount of music to be written and performed is staggering here, in such a short time, and yes, some is background to carry the story, but there's a lot of good tunes in there too, and great scoring and performances (looks like Paul worked very hard on this aspect too!) Each of the performers here did an outstanding job, and since you generously posted a sneak-peek at one of your recorded how-to instructions, we got to see you working gently behind the scenes. That was an awesome touch. I have listened to this entire thing twice through now, and am so impressed with everyone involved... I've been sitting here for weeks not knowing what I could say. Such a wonderful gift you have offered all of us, Jack. Thank you so much!
ttfn,
Eduard
