Description:
7:10 a.m.
The young "titans of industry" attack the city early and with a passion. They understand there is no "free ride" but money to be made and power acquired. It's the deal to be made that is their holy grail. These "rising stars" are John Grand's biggest fans. They know his mantra by heart ..." Go over, under, around or through any obstacle to make the deal ... take no prisoners". It nearly feels like religion.

Performance Note: Solo.. Age Isbell Newscaster: Mark Holbrook

Lyrics:
No Ride Free
[Davisamerica]

200 stories up from the common crowd
Shiny bits of silver you can call your own
Doesn't really matter if your conscience takes a little nap
Make the deal, get a copy, get a coffee and so long
[ Chorus]
The money's on the table
And the vultures are in the street
The serpent's left the river bed
The ground shakes beneath your feet
Don't pray to God to help you
He'll say "sorry son I gotta run"
"Don't you read the papers boy .... an't nobody having fun".

Every day's another day
To prove that you got it down
Got it cold, got it nailed
Got the deal by the tail alright

Doesn't matter
If you take them down
I's the race
It's the ring
It's the thing
And it's all for the taking

The drive of the city
This works to represent the pressure of the profit motive, where a conscience is a luxury you can't afford.

Very good work by Mark and Age Isbell

So far, this is a great story.

Cool
The singing on this is amazing - great vocal performance, and a wonderful song. Love that guitar sound, and the lyrics are great (as they are on the whole thing!) Very cool. I really like the bass, too - lovely sound, and really nice playing. Nice job, Mark on the newscasting, too! Very cool. Peace.

Age sounds just right.
Chorus is well done. Mark, The major stations are looking for a new anchor. The lyrics have a country, common sense about them. Captains and Kings. Thanks.

Great song
Interesting to think that John Grand may well be on Skid Row at the moment.
More terrific performances all round.
Cheers

I was looking forward .....
... to hearing Age's contribution (no sneaky peeky on this one for me) .... sounds great ! Mark's debut as the Newscaster is SO SO Fitting .... and makes me believe that he definitely has a shot at an alternate career if he were interested ..... I am really enjoying my second listen of this HUGE SHOW ! Again I will say .. I love the way the themes play here and there throughout and keep it all together. (Little kazoo in this one) ....

track 3 "No ride free"
Age is a rock and roll wonder. There was never any doubt on who would sing this tune. His performance is a power house. I don't believe I have been around anyone with more enthusiasm or energy. Mark Holbrook added the "newscast" and nailed this nicely to the rest of the work. Roxylee as always laid down a backing vocal track you could build on. When this track first came back from Mark after mastering I was pleased and amazed .... wow !
