Lyrics
Right This Way
[Davisamerica]

Right this way now Mr. Grand
You gotta walk it like you mean it
Step lively man
I can clearly see you understand
How the big wheels move
Don't you Mr. Grand?

All your bags are here now Mr. Grand
Just leave them to the help
Your wish is their command
Everything is in it's proper place
Our best reward is your smiling face

[ Chorus ]
Take a look around at our lovely town
Take a stroll down Golden Avenue
If you like we can change it round
Just tell us what you'd like to do

There's no worries here now Mr. Grand
Grab the big brass ring and spin it round again
Leave your memories and have a brand new go
Be the man that everyone wants to know
Leave the old behind now Mr. grand
Such a simple choice such a lucky man
Back there they tried to pull you down
But from now on sir ...
This is your town
Mr. Grand

Power Is
[Davisamerica]

Power is .... a truly most amazing thing
Power is .... The thing that makes you dance and sing

It brings you round and round to see
That you are you and they will never be
What they think it's all about
You sell the secrets and schmooze their doubts

Every day it shows
You've got something that they don't know
You say jump
They ask how high
It's wonderful to be "the guy"

Power is ..... the taste the feel of it
Power is ..... a rush the most intense

It fills you up
It turns their head
It makes them laugh at what you said
You're so damn smart
They know you are
You let them park your brand new car

Like the transition
from one part to the next.

Great vocals by Dick, Len and Jack on the two sections here. I didn't see credits on the music in this part, but whoever did the music did a great job.

So far I haven't mentioned the lyrics on any of these. I'll correct that omission right now.

Since you are telling a story, rhyme is not as important as the story line, but in almost all cases you use appropriate rhymes where possible and it has all made perfect sense. Excellent work on the lines used and the coordination between the various parts.

Another Kudos goes out from here.

Ed

Take a look around
Mr. Grand...You got what you really wanted. This is one of the songs that stuck in my mind for weeks. From the carnival-like intro to the end cheering, it all fits together so well. Thanks, Jack, for asking me to be a part of this fine production.

Sense of relief
Right This Way: Perhaps a hint of sarcasm and maybe macabre. Subtle though.

Nice melodies!

Power Is: At this point, Mr. Big must be truly entertained! His religion in life has truly panned out afterwords!

Dick's vocal is a rush most intense to steal a phase. Nifty job on the musical bed. The backing vocals add a sonic frosting. Some wild changes..kudo's to all

Ok right .....
.. this is the little ditty that I cannot get out of my head .... I've been humming it here and there since I heard it .... it has been floating in my head ... not likely to leave any time soon I suspect .... FABULOUS VOX Dick on the intro .... oddly enough I am visualizing the Banker from the Monopoly game in the intro of this act. POWER ! yes .... this one has that for sure .... Len and Roxy keeping it going .. great ! Luv the kazoo too !

track11 "well ... hello"
so ok we cheated ..... "right this way" was a track terry and I could never get right.... we tried. As the work progressed and DWL became more of a prominent voice it became very easy to re think and re write the lyrics for this to fit this scene. When Dick sings "This is your town Mr. Grand" ... it still makes me laugh with glee. Yep ... I said "glee". The choir led by Roxy worked!

"power is" .... I have always loved Len Gold. Len is an "original". This track is another that was finished early on as Len was headed off for a holiday. Len's holiday would result in a strange illness and concern. The entire cast waited anxiously for his recovery. The final cut was on hold until Len was recovered. Eddie Fliess added a wonderful "vocoder" track that added a lot of depth to the choir. This track is "choir intense" and I think Mark and I both were smiling as we listened to each voice.
Finally .... Kazoo solo ... Roxylee...... you nailed it lady! This segment was just alot of fun to put together.

Right This Way...
...has the perfect verse. Well, maybe not perfect, it could maybe use an evil guitar solo.
