Description:
..... can I call a friend
So here you are Mr. Grand. Being dead could be franchised. It has some opportunities. Did you have any idea you had that many regrets Mr. Grand? How many soccer games could have been missed ..... quiet intimate evenings cancelled ..... times you ask for dinner instead of how she was ..... how she felt .... but best to just tidy up here Mr. Grand.
Take in this view of the city in all it's vibrance and glory. It is a beautiful sight. John Grand, you can make the choice to live in this city of dreams... as a new being with no regrets. Just a simple matter of letting go.
How long did it take you to figure out, Norah ... what she looked like, what her hair smelled like, how many times she met you with an open heart ... that last sense of her, will be gone if you choose the city. Never find her. Never love her. Have no memory of her. No one expects you to decide to live an eternity of regret just to hold on to some small faded image of a woman lost to you. No one expects that Mr. Grand. You had such important dreams. Go on sir, make your choice.
Performance note:
Afterlife Narrator: Dick Langford "John Grand" : Dajama
Swedish Birthday Song: ......"May you live forever".... performed by Saymme

Guide:
Mr. Grand the time has come
You must decide
You can't wait longer
It's up to you
It always was
There's are the things that you put away
There's nothing more to do or say
No searching for the hidden treasure Mr. Grand
It's the "bottom line" Mr. Grand
[John Grand]
This city is incredible this high up
So bright ... so beautiful ... amazing
No regrets ... No memories
[Make the choice ... your dreams or your memories]
It's so incredible
It's everything you could ever dream
Lying before me is such a scene
Why does this choice seem so wrong
Who could imagine
The wonder of finding your dreams complete
Beauty and Power laying at your feet
But something is wrong.
[ Make the choice ... dreams ... memories ]
It shouldn't be so hard
It shouldn't be this hard
Norah
I left you far behind
I've lost you now
Norah
To never find you
Never love you

while we're alive.
Dick's part is very well done as is David's and the backtracks on this section were wonderful.
Saymme's lullaby is wonderfully simple after all the drama preceding it, but beautiful in that simplicity.

Powerful. Unbelievable Rock opera with such a big heart.
Helena, that was perfect: a nice reminder that there is always bright hope for us to live forever. I have my thoughts on this. I hope I'm right. Thank you, all.

Wonderful parts by Dick, David, and Lena, that was a fun tension reliever . Such regrets, Mr. Grand., and a terrible conflict. What will you choose?

.. all the pieces are now coming together ... and the choreography is again evident .. with bits of the story being echoed in its end ..... SUPERB ! Ah Track 13 where the whole story comes together in its conclusion .... those little voices like spiders weaving their webs in tandem .... silky yet dangerous at the same time ... steer clear of their web .... (do you remember what you said John?) .... What did John Grand Choose anyway? Perhaps we shall find out in the sequel? Lena's little poem at the end was beyond enchanting .... was it indicative of John's final choice?

... and no the #13 was a coincidence ... a pretty odd coincidence. This track was one of the first I sent to Mark for "additions". I ask Mark to create a wall of voices and gave him some very general locations I thought they were needed at. What you hear on the track is what I heard on Mark's first "demo" back to me. Mark has a great ear for production and I learned to trust him completely. This track represented about 2 minutes that threw a wall up in my writing process for several weeks. The final lyrics were difficult. I felt the piece needed a lot of room for the listener to paint their own picture and that meant the lyrics would be minimal but important. The additional challenge was once again the performers would need to put on their "acting" costumes. I hope the lyrics work for folks but I KNOW the performances will. Dick Langford ..... that's it. Dick Langford completed up on this track with just another "spot on" performance. Then there is that "Mr. Grand" character. This is a hard assignment on this track. It has to be convincing. David [Dajama] convinced me arly on he was a great choice for this character and this last performance nails it down. Wonderful performances by both artist. Patrick and I always knew the very end of this track would be Helena's Birthday Song. By video, the whole cast was invited into her home for a visit during this project and I am safe in saying Helena captured all our hearts. So it's the bottom line Mr. Grand. Well done you guys!
