Description:
This is a difficult one to explain. I suppose you could say that it's what happens when too much Buddhist/Sufi/Gnostic and other esoteric reading combine with listening to Neutral Milk Hotel. This is essentially a ballad about our own struggles with the ego and all the untruths we inadvertently project- how notions of peace and love can be transformed into negative actions and states of (false) being such as hate, greed, and war. The story is told through the person who has been fooled into committing their being to such un-realities. A modern hierophant, speaking with the voice of God but forgetting all the words, and destroying truth by so doing. Oh yeah and with strange ambient noise in the mix as well (the purpose is to sound like jets or missiles (and radar as well) illustrating the folly of humanity's genius being used in the service of madness. Hope you dig it.

...second listening...love the way Your voice is so near - so clear/close 'pure'(?) Very Beautiful . .. Touches me : ) first thougth was i wish it would been only You & the Guitar -like I said it grows on ya'(me) & fits veryvery well... Just what I needed this 'slow'meditative today AWESOME

I'm really humbled to hear that- when I write a tune, I write it generally to express either a feeling or to evoke a mood. This song definitely was intended to be a very pensive kind of track and it's awesome to hear that it did work that way for you. I've got a few more similar ideas that I'll hopefully get up here soon! Thank you so much again!

really cool song, man. i love the darkness of all the ambient stuff going on. great lyrics, too. this is a song I'd really like to have written and sung myself. my kinda tune. great job.
