Description
Over the next couple of days, I'm going to post songs from the home-made EP I recorded last year. If you like them enough to put them on your iPod, here's some particulars:

Artist: Nolan
Title: No One
1. Fine
2. Funded
3. Sunrise
4. Solitude
5. Two Seconds

Again, this song features Jim "Pooey" Mitchell's bass, and the mastering skills of Jim Bouchard.

I've got the niggle to write and record again so I'm hoping to spend some quality time at MacJams during the process. Float some works in progress for feedback and ideas along the way, and maybe even find some collaborators. Talk to you soon...

Lyrics
We should be sitting together
Not here and there
I feel the space all around me
When you’re not here

This is our time and this is their money
And they will but we won’t get it back

So let’s not get up ‘til it suits us
We’ll have breakfast at lunchtime then do stuff
That we hadn’t planned, on a whim, off the cuff, we’ll make it up

This won’t always be
We are young and funded and free

We’ve not got time here to squander
But we’ve got a car
And so many adventures to plunder
Both near and a long way away

This is our time and this is their petrol
And they will if we don’t burn it up

So let’s not head out in a hurry
We’ll let the peak hour traffic blow itself away
Then we’ll sneak out the backdoor

This won’t always be
We are young and funded and free

You and me, we will always be
But the things that we’re doing now won’t be

This won’t always be
This won’t always be
We are young and funded and free

Another excellent track
Great that you've come back Nolan!

You seem to have mastered this particular genre for sure. Nice production too. Still has a very "The Whitlams" feel to me.

My second favourite...
....from your EP. Neil is right, of course - very Whitlams like (but that's okay - they're an Aussie treasure!)

Good stuff!
Takes me back to my 'Toad the Wet Sproket' days.Your sound and style very much reminiscent of the band in many ways and that's a very good thing in my book.Wonderful display of talents and a solid piece of work.

Blessings,

a single
category doesn't do your music justice. Fabulous sonics. A real treat.
Kudo's to all involved with this gem. The vocals are outstanding. That little synth part, in the break, fantastic. Love the hooks

Lovely stuff
This is a lovely track. The singing is top notch and some lovely changes, with a sweet melody that sticks in the head (in a good way!) and very nice production. Some really nice lyrics, too ("This is our time and this is their petrol/ And they will if we don%u2019t burn it up" is a sweet line). Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Peace.
