Keywords:
guitar rock (11)rock (1147)instrumental (443)mad scientists (1)
Description:
Something quick and dirty to clear all the ambient music outta my head, so I can go back and compose some more ... uhhh ... ambient music. I dedicate this to all the mad scientists in the world, struggling as they are, with their substandard pay and their visions of world domination and such. I backed off the synths just a bit here compared to my usual fare. I hope you like it. It was fun to make.

Hardware:
iMac, Presonus Firebox, Boss GT-8, Ibanez JS1000, bubbling beakers, a rack of test tubes

Software:
LE7, Addictive Drums, Zebra 2, Ozone 3

I remember that guy. I &mdash 10/02/08 - 10:14:11 PM
I forgot he had such a big tool! No puny, elegant Dr. Who-like tool. No, this guy hits things with large ratchets. Even stuff that looks like it would explode if not handled carefully. Handle With Care sign needed over here. Thanks.

The enormity of a mad scientist's tool is matched only by the enormity of his ambition to conquer all that he surveys. But you sell him short by saying that he "hits" things with his tool. Dr. Cyclops works with the utmost precision and efficiency, guiding his tool with the calculated dexterity of a surgeon, but when needed, with the raw and unbridled force of a jackhammer, always unwavering, dedicated only to the goal of manifesting his evil designs.

Man alive you sure can play that axe! I love the "live" feel you've got in this. Excellent stuff and mucho kudos.

What've you got in the beakers and test tubes btw? Something very nasty, no doubt!

At excellent gollumish expression. Heh. Thanks for that.

I cannot reveal the contents of my beakers and tubes until I have snared my opponent in one of my evil traps, whereupon the details of my methods will become known ... you know, about 10 minutes before the end of the movie.

I know the feeling. Too much ambient needs some of this stuff to shake you loose a bit ;-)

Whatever you do, you do it well! I'm not sure but isn't there some of Yes' guitars in this? (It was my brother listening to Yes when I was a kid, but suppose I couldn't help hearing bits and pieces through the walls...) Instant download, of course, so thanks again!

Hi, Henke... &mdash 10/04/08 - 12:59:03 PM
Thanks mucho for the comments. A bunch of electrified guitar noise can be cathartic. Yes guitar? Ha! Steve Howe raises an eyebrow in your general direction.

Thanks Eckleiste. &mdash 10/05/08 - 03:32:31 PM
Sorry about the mixup with the reply button. Anyway, I'm not sure what you're asking about the bass. Are you requesting a real bass or are you asking if the bass is real? If you're asking the first question, I am thinking about buying a bass so I can have real bass parts, not that I know how to play bass. If you're asking the second question, it's midi, two tracks, one with a guitar amp, panned left/right by -12 and +12.

Thanks for listening and commenting. Sometimes quick and dirty is just the thing, eh?

A mere trifle, EB. A bit tame and conventional by your standards, I'm afraid. Just a little something to cleanse the palate. But I do appreciate your support. Thanks mucho!
