Description:
I wanted to write a song for my wife, but it can apply to my girls, too! I guess I'm just lucky! It's short, but I just don't have a lot of time these days!!

Doug

Lyrics:
We will be alright tonight
Looking at the light tonight

Work we've had is almost done
Now this fire, bright as the sun
Cold nights gone, they're all done

We will be alright tonight

Coffee? Sure &mdash 10/05/08 - 09:32:17 AM
Thanks for the welcome!

I've always liked Neil Young. My challenge was to come up with chords, lyrics and an ok recording in an hour. I would like to expand on this, sometime.

Thanks,
Doug

Happy to see you! I'm thinking of using this as a recurring theme or maybe a refrain. I also thought it might be a nice intro to something bigger, whatever that means.

Thanks,
Doug

I was editing the lyrics and was thinking of tech writing I've done. I'll call it "lyrical extract." Minimalist. :)

Contemplative &mdash 10/06/08 - 02:43:53 AM
Does what it needs to do and says what it needs to say without fuss.

Perfectly formed!

I too have a very short song called 'Innocence' I wrote for my kids, so i have no problem with the length of this :) Beautiful sentiment, and I can tell you mean it. Guitars sound great. Good post man.

The women in our lives are like flowers in our garden. A very lovely tune Doug. Heartfelt vocal delivery. I only wish it was a bit longer, perhaps with a little acoustic guitar soloing...

Sorry it took so long to get here my friend. Been busy...

Be well!

Nice sound Doug &mdash 10/16/08 - 07:29:32 AM
Trying to catch up here! I really enjoy the way you bypass the usual vocal timing cues a lot of the time - kind of free form in a controlled way. Very enjoyable listen - hope all your girls enjoyed it!
Neil
