Wayward Cha Cha (The Other World Mix)

Description
This mix was originally called Cosmic Cha Cha but I didn't want it compared with the Cosmic Symphony, except as being another tune by me, so hence its different title.

The mix came about purely through mixing and matching, with the rhythm coming first followed by the almost raunchy backing/lead sections.

Nothing more to say about the piece other than let me know if you think the mix sound OK as far as contracts between the rhythm and the other sounds.

You are...
...the master of this kind of musical mix, Paul. There's always control and definite focus and direction to your work...If I might offer one thought to consider: bring up some of the "other" instruments as you get going and let the percussion floor just fade way to the background. I wonder, too, if you'd consider anything melodic with this present composition as accompaniment. Something unusual---like a bassoon --- might produce a jarring effect if played in a "mannered" style above this. It is just a thought.
Peace.

Hi Paul....
It's always good to hear from you, especially when it also concerns ideas for one of my mixes. Your ideas are thought-provoking and one day, later this year, I'll revisit this piece with your suggestions in mind, to see what happens to the overall result.

Take care.

this is really neat, not sure about the latin genre, but i am sure that this is a really cool piece of music. i actually think that Pauls idea about dropping the rhythm track is an interesting idea. but it stands admirably as is. almost like a Tom Waits segue, really cool. had to hit play twice in a row.

Hi Michael......
One of the interesting things about dialogue on MJ's is that you can pick up clues to other artists who you've never heard of or at least never heard any of their music.

The Latin idea came from the percussive element. It sounded South American more than anything else so the mix was labelled Latin.

The 'extras' and better sound levels for each track will be investigated probably this coming weekend. If I remember, or some other time when I rediscover the work I've already done, sometime in the future. It is certainly worth persuing.

Take care.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
