Description:
OK OK so I haven't added the vox yet, or the acoustic guitar. in fact there probably won't be acoustic guitar now that I've added some piano. Loads of other tweaks too small to mention. Home studio still not ready for vox yet but getting there. Feedback on this evolution would be appreciated.

Lyrics:
Kaleidoscope
Words & Noise: Pie

Kaleidoscope of color breaking down the light
and casts it's hue upon the wall
caught in a slo-mo trance
emotion dances and raises a quizical brow

sittin' 'round dodging coffins waiting for their time to come
with luck, perhaps they'll leave together, hand in hand
cups of tea and custard creams, watch the pigeaons fly
park bench sofa, channel hopping, watch the world go by

can you tell me, is this love that i'm feeling?
can you tell me?
or a psychological need to imprint ourselves upon the most available compatible?

BREAKDOWN

can you tell me, is this love that i'm feeling?
can you tell me?
or a psychological need to imprint ourselves upon the most available compatible?

fast cars and margaritas, she opens up on sight of bling
he takes his prize and plays the game of lo-fi dreams and duplicity
ladies nights and business trips, laying claim to time for space
their secret lives, their rendezvous - their ignorance is bliss.

can you tell me, is this love that i'm feeling?
can you tell me?
is this love that i'm feeling? is this love that i'm seeing?
is this love, is this love, is this love?
am i seeing love? (is this what you call love?)
am i hearing love? (is this your dream call love?)
should i believe in this feeling you call love?

You're going to get this right. ;)

The piano is a nice addition and I like it. I'd say you're getting very warm now, but I'm not offering any hints... except, maybe for the Flutophone orchestra. :)

Another great incarnation on this epic, kaleidoscopic journey.

Very Interesting &mdash 10/07/08 - 07:26:05 PM
I'm enjoying the piano stuff you're doing lately, as in Coalesce and even the remix of Saturnine you did. I like it mixed into this song, especially in the beginning (how much do I hate it that you can pencil it so convincingly?) I found it a little bit...I don't know what the right word is...incongruous...when it comes in during the bridge, and I'm not just saying that just because it's where my part used to be. LOL. I'd actually be interested to hear a full on piano chords part going through the rest of the song after that. It would make more sense to me.

It's interesting to hear this mix with some things missing, because I heard the last mix and this has lots of space, which is different for a Pie joint and I kind of like hearing the space in this. Honestly, though, it is insanely hard for me to comment on this song, because, according to iTunes, by a mile, the original is my most played MJ song ever, so it's embedded in my head. Obviously, this is terrif. Not convinced the piano is doing everything it could at this point.

Also, you're a talented bastard and I hate you for it. *kisses*

Good to see a pro here. &mdash 10/10/08 - 09:16:56 AM
Top flight stuff, man. Glad I found you (via ILmyMac v2 & Ledeb @ Twitter). You've got this sew-up tighter than a drum. 100% together, something we can all appreciate. So controlled. Down to the harmonies. And the mastering is insane. Thanx.
