Wow thanks magna that means a lot, I wasnt sure if you would enjoy it to tell you the truth, being the genre that it is. its great that most of you look past stereotyping genres and see past that and into the musical creation itself... Again thanks for the interest, i love music and its apparent that you have a love for it as well :)
If you have time check out the other track i have up on my page. The horror. oo spooky! [ Reply to This ]
So far so good &mdash 10/07/08 - 01:01:01 PM
Great beat, the pace definitely pulls you along through a dark landscape. Great variety of sounds with efficient placement to keep the beat constantly changing and building up, The vocoder drums work really well with the feel of the song. Very creative. [ Reply to This ]

Interesting creepy, dark bed .. &mdash 10/07/08 - 01:01:45 PM
.. quite 80s esque sounds in the synths .. and tension and drama. Those ARP loops always remind me of 80s show themes like "Knight rider" and "Airwolf"... and the helicopter samples added to the latter.
Nice mixing .. and I liked the effects on the snare... created nice variation and movement. The quite tinney ride cymbal doubling up with the bell/glock sound was a cool little touch too.
All GB loops and midi? [ Reply to This ]

i actually hate using loops, i find it takes away from the creativity so I steer away from them. There is however 1 loop in this its one drum loop over another beat i did. Sometimes when working on something new i'll start with a drum loop ( not much spare time these days so loops get you started fast ) then i take it out and work in my own drums. But this loop fit perfect for this track so i kept it, i couldnt see this track without it.
Everything else is VST instr out of reason4 tweaked and midi with the axiom 61 key controller.
Thanks for the interest and comments i appreciate it. [ Reply to This ]
Welcome - &mdash 10/07/08 - 01:38:37 PM
I like your work with the different synth sounds. Standing on its own, like this,it doesn't have quite enough movement to be its own piece, but with a good vocal line or rap, it will be awesome! You have some good solid layers in there that will support either a singer, a rapper, or a horn player. [ Reply to This ]

thanks kristy, it is defently still in the incomplete stage.. I just started this on the weekend i need george bush voice samples in wav or mp3 that can be imported to set the tone for the chrous/intro along with the chopter. So far evey one ive DL'ed off the net cubase wont import it ( possible protection on the file???) not sure. But if anyone has any bush speeches regarding the current situation overseas pls let me know!!! even if theyre few yrs old now. Ive DL over 10 and not a single one can be loaded into cubase. I hope to find someone to rap something meaningful on this about the war and human nature in general. [ Reply to This ]

Spooky Groove &mdash 10/10/08 - 06:53:13 AM
This is well crafted, and a comfortably ominous journey. Could be well suited for a soundtrack.
Thanks for sharing! [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for the listen and comment i really do appreciate it, this is one of my favs atm, as i think it does well in capturing the essence of war. i tried to stay clear of the typical war sound of marching drums, stomping, wardrums, etc. hopefully i will be able to work on it this weekend! Interesting choices &mdash 10/12/08 - 06:27:19 PM
The melody and mood have me bobing my head. The choice and use of the instruments is also nicely place. I enjoyed the sound effects too. Looking forward to the lyrics on this one. [ Reply to This ]

long dolly shot &mdash 11/19/08 - 06:09:52 PM
I can see the long aerial shot from the skid of a helicopter over the sandy landscape of a once ancient Persia. Very nice groove.
Maybe other soundbites could be brought in from a few generals (scwartzkopf) - not just current prez. maybe Roosevelt (from an earlier conversation) [ Reply to This ]

nice post and suggestion. I actually thought about especially after i think it was dolby or apb mentioned that it sounded 80s-ish. so i was thinking maybe even going back prior to 80s to nam, i listened to it again and it has that nam feel.. a more horrifying experience than afganistan or iraq i would say. I most likely will go that direction after you thinking moreless the same as well. i figured bush/afgan is current, so it felt right... but i think it has that nam feel..hmm time to do some research looks like.
