Description:
This song is about putting into practice the powerful and convicting story Jesus told in Matt 25:31-45. It's played with a classical guitar accompanying a brother and sister duet. Two of the verses are the real life story of our two adopted children. This song is part of a CD collection of bible based songs intended to inspire the listener and help them hide God's word in their hearts. The CD is available for a donation of which all proceeds go to help families in the process of adoption.

Lyrics:
When I was hungry, when I was thirsty,
Sick and in prison, a stranger alone...

4-years-old, he runs in the street,
Empty belly, no shoes on his feet
No one knows, where he has been
Is anyone there... to take this stranger in?

12-years-old, she stands by the door,
All she owns in a bag on the floor
Same old story, again and again,
Would anyone care....to take this stranger in?

(Chorus)

Lost and wand’ring one, sad and broken one, dark imprisoned one.
Who will take you in?
Angry, bitter one, poor rejected one, strangers, every one.
Who will take you in?

Baby girl, she screams in the night,
Drugs in her blood, a desperate fight,
Only God knows how it will end
Will anyone dare... to take this stranger in?

(Chorus)

When I was hungry, when I was thirsty, sick and in prison,
a stranger alone...

I am the least of these

Thank you for the encouraging comments. My wife Jody wrote the lyrics which were inspired by the stories of our two adopted kids (girl from foster care at age 12, boy found at age four and put in a Philippine orphanage--adopted at age 12). The singers, Gabe and Rosie Quintana are a brother and sister (ages 21 and 14) and Rosie came up with the harmony lines. The chorus comes from Matthew 25. This is the central song of our fundraiser CD.

I am impressed by the spirit behind this work, as well as the artistic value. The guitar is simple, yet very effective. The singing is likewise really well done. The lyrics are thought provoking. Thanks for posting it here.

Glad you were blessed. We haven't played at any schools though we have visited a few churches. The kids in our group are all growing up and have a hundred other interests so it's hard to get things going. As to more from us... we've got projects in the works but we're not professionals and have lots of other commitments (gotta keep the day job), so finding time is always a challenge.
