Description:
Thanks to the Second Chance Challenge, I can finally offer my take on SmokeyVW's beautiful drift of music. It got sidelined like so many other things, and has been sitting in a quiet part of my hard drive since it was created, waiting for me to find it. Well, I found it.

I'm not a religious person, but the music brought back strong memories of Sundays in church when I was a kid; the rituals are still somewhat familiar, decades later. I wanted to capture a sense of that childlike wonder and awe in the mysteries of the music and the Mass that I remember.

The bed tracks are essentially Bill's MIDI tracks dropped wholesale into as grand an organ as I could get out of GarageBand; then I added little accents of strings and other organ touches here and there. Most of this is Bill's work; I just dressed it a little differently.

Thanks for the lovely music, Bill - and letting us wander away with it wherever it may take us.

Have A Rest, My Friend &mdash 10/09/08 - 04:26:58 PM
...I'm always thrilled when the Blues Master drops into my corky little corner of this place. Glad you found the music so peaceful, the world could always use a little more peace wherever it can find it. Stay as long as you want, Feter.

and on the art, as well. I can almost see that lady with the gold shoes playing her heart out. Thanks.

Cool job Rik &mdash 10/16/08 - 06:45:57 PM
you really opened this up - I love the soundscape you created and the slightly jazzier turn. Well deserving of a second chance.
