Description:
This is one of the first few songs that I wrote after my pops passed away in 2006 that helped me to decide that I want to write music for the rest of my life (and try to make a career out of it!) It's basically about pushing through the tough times. This one was recorded in the band's 'practice studio' and will be re-recorded for the Morningside album, which is in its pre-production phase at the moment. I hope you enjoy!!Lyrics:
Verse 1First I want to start by thanking you for giving me this creativity I know if it wasn't for you, these thoughts would not be flowing into these keys you said, "Be careful son the road ahead is not going to be easy but if you have the confidence, that will give you the drive, to get you where you need to be." Chorus You got to: Keep on taking those steps ahead and try to learn from the past that keeps on lingerin' in yo head. Find that inner strength that will get you through these tough situations that you sometimes~ get yourself on into. Verse 2 You said, "Be sure and have a lot of fun, young son, because life is but a treat. You've got to sometimes walk into the rain and go dancin' in the street! but be sure to watch your back because people can be sneaky... oh, they will lift you up, just to drag you down...now doesn't that sound freaky?! Verse 3 Although another day has come to an end, you've got to know where you've been. Everybody makes mistaikes but the smart ones know what to discard and what to take from the trials and tribulations that seem to find you, and it's up to you to know just what to do. Hardware:
