Description:
Just a melody running through my head at first. I thought I'd write it down, pluck out some notes on the piano, and here it is now. This song is written with the intent of keeping me--and any others who relate-- out of slumps--- and to make me realize that each day is a day for me (and you) to take the time to do something that means something or that will help someone in someway. That is the inspiration behind the song for the most part.

Put on a coat so I could go out to see the sunrise.
I walked outside and took a breath of the air as it is at sunrise.
And I thought, "This day is mine. This day was made for me!"

I sat upon the old tree swing that hung in the yard. Swinging back and forth I take a breath of the air as it is at sunrise. I thought "This day is mine. This day was made for me!"

The sun is rising and I feel alive! There's a new day beginning. Let's all be alive.

To write a song for someone else to cheer them up, is a
great quality to have in someone. Not to get all mushi, but
everyone needs friends like yourself. This world would be
a better place that's for sure. Again I'm a fan of your
music, but I would love it if you had a better mic. Your
voice was distorted in some places. Your voice deserves
better!!

On a higher note: Love your singing keep em coming.

Thanks for the comments. My mic is a USB mic--and thats all have right
now. Any recommendations? Thanks for listening--its always fun to have
people listen and comment on your songs.

You have such a wonderful vocal quality and delivery. So
open and freeing and feminine and joyful and warm. Your
last 2 songs, tho, have vocal distortion that really
detracts from the light, freeing, sweet sense of each of
these songs. The songs are great! But the vocals sound a
bit like they were recorded inside a can and the distortion
is a distraction. Please check your levels, see if you are
distorting as you record or afterward in mixdown. If it is
as you record, you could reset some levels. Feel free to
email me for more specific advise. (I'd need to know your
setup.) Cuz I am a real fan.

I agree with the former comments about your vocals,
a little echoey.. but perhaps thats just because of where
you record them, perhaps in a large room.
anyway, its a minor thing... You have a wonderful voice.
Nice melody and harmonies.
More please....as often as you can.

Fabulous voice! I LOVE it.

Nice downturned chords too.

Terrible recording of it though. Too hot. You can hear
the clipping. Back away from the mic slightly and/or turn
down the gain on the amp. The idea is to not have the
peaks be flat topped in the editing window.

I like the piece a lot. The right backup instrumentation
would highlight your vocal quality even more. Reminds
me of Over The Rhine.

If I were the big boss of some multimillion record label, I'd
offer you a lifetime contract. I'd also give you the very best
musicians to make your songs (that I've heard from you so
far) real world class quality.

Wonderful vocals. I love the texture of your voice, too.
Great harmonies. Love the lightness and the playfulness of
the lyrics. All sunny-yellow and golden...so nice :)

voice but I agree with everyone about the distortions. Your voice goes well with the music chosen You have sort of a michelle branch sound. Don't care much for the lyrics. Just think they need a lot more to them.
