hope (91)Lord (17)king (12) ()
Description:
a song of thanksgiving and hope

Lyrics:
when you found me
i was so lost
how your light
shined so sweetly
Lord you are king
of everything

in your presence
i find hope
and the life
that sustains me
Lord you are king
of everything

night and day
your hand is upon me
lifting me up
drawing me close
holding me near

when you call me
will i go
will i leave
the chains that hold me
Lord you are king
of everything

Feter, you're a good friend &mdash 10/12/08 - 01:38:54 PM
I'm glad you enjoyed this song. It was a much needed reminder for me of how far God has brought me in the past 15 years. And knowing some of your circumstance makes me glad that I posted it, and that you heard it.

Boy Paul &mdash 10/11/08 - 09:19:37 PM
on headphones.. the aural beauty of the first moments is gripping... I must confess... as a Christian, I don't like most Christian music... there is something unpretentious & authentic about this... great vocal and backing... and emotional build... all of the sounds are natural and sit in a believable space...

nice work

I'm with you on christian music, and I'm glad this isn't like that. Feel free to play this at your fellowship. :-)

I've been bone-ing up on the mechanical aspects of digital recording, I'm glad it's starting to show. In a lot of ways it's nothing at all like analog, so I'm having to slow down and change my old recording habits. It's nice though, I love learning.
Thank you for checking the tune out Peter, it means a lot to me.

That's a sweet song, Paul... &mdash 10/13/08 - 10:05:46 AM
...and produced with a nice simplicity. I like the subtle use of the backing voices, and the mandolin...

As with some of Scott's work, it captures 'yearning' without getting weirdly doctrinaire...as a result, I think almost anyone could relate to it...
And not a trace of preachiness...

This nice song costs although I made the effort of a comment, me which makes it here very rarely because of my very poor language.
I like very much this song Paul. Sincerely a pleasure to listen, very well interpreted, vocals and music. Thanks

THIS is how a testament of devotion should sound. There is an old saying .... "sometimes you will be the only Bible people ever read ... " this is an incredibly great read .... I am sure your Father is very proud of you. Wonderful tune...

Thanks for checkin this out! &mdash 10/17/08 - 10:16:20 AM
I'm glad you like this tune.
I always try to let the song write itself as much as possible, so they are often as much a surprise for me as they are for others. This one was like that.

I really like the vocal; your voice makes me think of James Taylor, and that is a good thing! Nice arrangement, and a really good production. The sound on the acoustic is really sweet. Terrific stuff. Kudos. Peace.

Oh yes. &mdash 10/19/08 - 11:19:29 PM
Amen to that. I agree with the idea that God doesn't require us to do anything. He just wanted to share His creation with another intelligent being because of His generosity. But to come to the party you need to know the address. Always hard to wait for God's time. Patience reaps its own rewards. I see what you mean. the words just come. Excellent. I was thinking of Jim Croce.
Thank you.

WOW 2009 &mdash 11/05/08 - 01:33:41 PM
I'm thinking this could make it on to WOW 2009. I think this is a great song. It definitely isn't your usual sing songy religious cookie cutter song. This song has some nice imagery and a nice arrangement. Great writing. Thanks for inspiring.

I'm pleased to hear you like the tune.
Don't know that I have the proper hairline for WOW though. ;-)
People would be asking, "who's the pudgy bald guy on the WOW album? Is he sick or something are they gonna send him some of the proceeds? Poor guy, I hope it works out for him."
