Description:
Stage One: Piano Bass and Percussion

Having trouble running the synths I have with the other tracks. So I exported each stage to iTunes then imported into a fresh GB file. How did the sound come out?

I had the same problem recently &mdash 10/11/08 - 08:36:27 PM
some synths are processor hungry. What you did sounds good. What's Clavinova?

Thanks for listening. The Clavinova is the keyboard I play on. Its a consumer level electric piano with full weight mechanical keys for nice bounce and touch sensitivity.

Just fine! &mdash 10/12/08 - 05:01:40 AM
How the sound came out that is. :) Nice tune!

Yes - synths can hog the processor power. An upgrade to Logic can help you know, doesn't seem to use as much as GB. Or max out your ram.

Cool stuff anyway - the export/import thing didn't do any harm to this!

Thanks. I would not have guessed that Logic would use less ram, but now that you say it, it makes sense that logic would handle plugins and virtual instruments more efficiently.

Came out well! &mdash 10/12/08 - 06:06:24 AM
I'm not sure you should need to take the route over iTunes, though. Did you try to lock the various tracks inside GB? I haven't tried it myself a lot, since I usually use few tracks and not that many effects and stuff, but I know it can be done. Could be worth a try.

Take care.

Locking tracks is not something I have tried. I will look into it. Thanks.

The sound &mdash 10/12/08 - 06:31:22 AM
came out fine by my ears Bill. I Llike the slow build up onward and upward through the three stages

Sounds... &mdash 10/12/08 - 12:15:09 PM
...pretty good, Bill. Piano, though, doesn't sound like the same genre as the other plugins. Maybe it's just that it's out front more than anything else. I like the percussion loop.
Peace.

Interesting comment. My wife had me turn the piano volumes down from a previous version and she said that helped a lot. Tough call for me, this started as the piano chord sequence, and I kind of like it, but a good composition needs all the parts working together.

I think this is worth &mdash 10/12/08 - 12:18:30 PM
some further tinkering. Nice melody. Thanks.

Hmmm, it is a bit short. I can see some room for expansion and improvement :)

Synth sounds good &mdash 10/12/08 - 12:44:02 PM
Interesting arrangement Bill. Funky and Spacey (two of the lesser known dwarfs).

How much is a Clavinova?

Be well!

Clavinova's cost as much as the electric pianos Yamaha sells to musicians (start at about $1000 for a new one), the most obvious difference is the built in speakers and styling are geared to living room use. John Steebe mentioned that the Clavinova has a faster release than a true piano. I like that the keys weigh and "bounce" like a real piano's keys.

a marching feel a kind of music story that keeps tellin a truth.Cool leading and bass lines. I like the drums they sound so real and acoustic. Enjoyed!

Considering The Subject Matter &mdash 10/16/08 - 03:50:53 PM
This is a perfect soundtrack. Your idea of the three stages works for me. I saw the real thing launch from my front yard. I saw the real thing launch from my front yard when I was a kid.

I just took my kids to the Kennedy Space Center last month and saw the Saturn V displayed there on it's side in the rocket garden. It's amazing.
