Description:
been trying to figure out how to implement my thumb piano into my music. my friend, gennaro, sampled and synced the thumb track, added the lovely backing tracks, and took my seemingly inescapable mic hiss out;) i would like to make more of it, but this is a start. i know, i should stop posting these scribbles and come to the table with a finished piece. i'm trying...really!

I always see something much more than that in what you do and this is no exception. In fact, I think this is one of the best things I have heard from you. Excellent use of space and colour in this mix. Great singing
Please don't stop scribbling

oh you put such a smile on my face! i'm really gracious for your little pushes along the way. you are an amazing artist and i find it happily astonishing that you are so supportive of my scribbling.
best always!

for another drink of you. Amazing the way you have set this up. Your voice sounds as lovely as ever. the thumb piano a delightful addition.
scribble as much as you can.
as someone who is rarely satisfied with anything "done", I think everything is a work in process. This stands proud on its own
K.I.S.KISMET
to see you! i appreciate you stopping by to listen. i'm guilty of not getting around to see what you have been creating. hope you've been feeling inspired and well. truly happy to hear you are refreshed after listening:) thank you for the inspiration!

Thumb piano. I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone else use one here at MJ. Your voice is great. Very flexible, clean. This 'scribble' is as long as some of my finished pieces, and easily considered complete - not that you couldn't add more, but it does stand alone, IMHO. Tell Gennaro he did a great job with the engineering side of this, too. Thumb piano and voice on a hissy mic can't be easy to control ;)

i am happy to receive yours. it's great that the feedback is that it is enough, as is. i realized my song structuring is not always as people want or expect. i am trying to be more cohesive in that regard. "when i grow up" my hopes are to put an electro-acoustic act together using my thumb piano and drums..looping myself and such. but, i have a long way to go! i first have to get the hiss out of my mic:P
thanks again for listening!

It's an excellent piece of 'scribbling' if that is what it is.
The singing is great on top of the music. It all fits together so well.
Take care.

how i love to put plinky, crawly things inside minds...as well as have them put into mine;)
And I love the way you use it. Gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing you at the table with something you would consider "finished."
K.I.S.KISMET
so happy to see ou've stopped by to take a listen to the "pling". your comment made me think about if i have any pieces that i consider "finished"...nope!
are we ever satisfied? should we be?

Really pretty, I love it! Can you define "thumb piano" for me? I just LOVE your voice. This is great stuff.
K.I.S.KISMET
i wish!! anyway, a thumb piano is a kalimba/mbutu; a native african percussion instrument. i bought one from a local art and music university. i personally love the sound..it makes me happy:) i want a collection of them now! anyhoo, you seem like you might enjoy playing around too. so here is a sight you might like to visit: http://pbskids.org/africa/piano/haveflash.html
hope you enjoy dear...all my respect and best wishes!!
.... good!

a good thing, eh? most of my tunes are filled with friction and angst..feels good to sing a somewhat happy tune:)

Well...this is a very lovely scribble, if you ask me. There is something to be said about songs that have this kind of simplicity...they have a certain eloquence to them and give the listener time to reflect. Very nice job K.I.S.Kismet! Loved it! Be well!

Captivating, charming. The thumb piano lends a nice world music flavor. Looking forward to what this becomes but it works well as it is although perhaps a little short.

we should exchange instruments and have a fab jam session! mine was cheap..$50. worth every penny:) as always, gracious for your listening and support:)

feels like waking up somewhere new; like old things and their dust are left behind and their shadows are a watermark on the phosphorescence of what is suddenly realized to be the truth.
There is so much in this breath of a tune.
Beautiful.

is priceless; and your words always so beautiful and inspiring to me! here's to simplicity;)

...then please may I borrow your crayons? Wow, I just love this so much and I think it's absolutely my favorite of yours to date. Your vocal is just gorgeous. I love hearing it against such a spare background and the engineering on the track is great. The instrumental and vocal melodies are spectacular. All in all, I think any of us would have been happy to write and perform this one. It's a gem.
K.I.S.KISMET
are your crayons, my dear;) i truly appreciate your kind words. it's catalyzing to know my artistry can appeal without all the 'bells and whistles'.
much respect,

creatively brilliant. Not so much a sketch, more a Picasso.

I woke up at 2:30 p.m. and listened to your song - a perfect time and place for such a wonderful singing.
The mood of this piece of art is flowing like clear water.

What a beautiful introduction to you and your voice and your talents! This is just gorgeous. The thumb piano and soft shaker beat holding it all together underneath those incredible vocals. So simple and pure, yet it really had a very full sound. I loved the contrast between the consistency of the accompaniment and the almost improvised feel of your vocals. A wonderful song. Thanks so much for sharing this.

I always and sincerely admire any musician who can create compelling music while maintaining a musical simplicity which allows the listener to dive right into the musical space without feeling crowded, making listening an experience rather than a 'fast food' song without any real nourishing quality. And while you indulge us with a whole new sound (yet again) and an utterly confident vocal performance, I must say that it's the fresh, genuinely creative and positive energy that I enjoy the most!

Time stood still for about 3 minutes!!
I was absorbed in it!!

...but glad I stopped to listen. K.I.S.M.E.T..... as usual, your tune is top notch. This is very Tori Amosy, especially vocally. Is Amosy a real word? It should be - an adjective. :D

I really enjoyed listening to this. Thumb piano...hmmm, well it sounds great to me. Keep Scribbling away. :) You have lots of talent and it shows. Your voice is beautiful, very enticing!
