"Classic Mystified" indeed as opposed to my listen to your collab this morning.
Very beautiful contemplative track.

Thanks for sharing this little gem!

Spell-binding melody. Very soothing to listen to. Thanks, Cat.
drakonis
Very engaging piano, singing, and accompaniment here, synergy of ages. Little hints of Enya-like harmonies (definite compliment), and very soothing progressions toward relaxation. Calming in an energizing way.
I thought the very first singing chords at the beginning was slightly too soft behind the piano, but overall, a great piece here.

Mystified
...the intro voices are very soft, but it was intentional. I wanted them to 'arrive' from somewhere, and build in volume as the song progressed. Too, I almost wanted them to be like a shadow, so that the listener wondered if they were hearing voices to begin with.
May or may not appeal to some listeners....but that was the idea behind it :)
Thanks for listening and for leaving your thoughts, Drak :)

It did work in a way... at first I wasn't quite sure I heard your voice back there, so I think you got the effect. You are always very careful and deliberate, so I was sure that's what you wanted... but it left me wondering right away, instead of getting engrossed. I think it works for most people, but I get confused easily :-) But as I said, very beautiful piece.
Cameron
Very nice, soothing piece.
I agree with Drak that the volume of the opening voices needs to be more present, which would make more of a statement...perhaps you were going for a subtle approach.
Otherwise, lovely. I especially liked the way the piece built up after the beginning, with the addition of more instruments filling out the texture. Good pacing on that.
Peter Bauckham
I'd have to agree with that! I like the way the volume of the voices increases as the song progresses. Lovely stuff Cat.

Reminds me a bit of Sheila Chandra - are you familiar with her work?
Roxylee
singing, playing, and arrangement, Cat. Sublime is the best way I can describe this. :-)
davisamerica
you make me weep ... in a very good way ... this is lovely.

.. the "mystification" ..... I am losing words ...... heavenly !
Ed Hannifin
...of universal...This sounds like something that could be easily sung and heard in St. John the Divine with all that lush and lovely reverberation...
...or it could be something sung by High Elves contemplating a journey on foot to the Gray Havens...
And it could fill in a hundred combinations of yearning and journeying in between and along the way...
Ed
guitapick
...that was very, very, very nice. So easy to lose myself in...

This is very full and lush, yet ethereal. The simplicity of your repeated lyrics give them a deeper meaning because of your interweaving vocals.
VicDiesel
Not really.
I like the loose vocals in the beginning. All going in the same direction, but not entirely hand in hand. Creative and pretty.
Kicbal
Beautiful, Elegant and Ethereal. Great music coming from another Utah artist. : )
