Ethos Phree Part 1

Description
I wanted to write an album in a single GB file. Here's what I have so far, although the effect is diminished because I have to split it up into 2 mp3 files on this site. It's all GB software instruments except for the one guitar solo. Honest comments would be appreciated greatly! Thanks.

Oh, this hasn't been mixed whatsoever, and there's probably going to be more added later. Hope everyone enjoys.

Honest comments...
It's so hard to keep up these days. The posts are coming way too fast. I know that people are supposed to be nice around here, and I am nice, but my comments might seem harsh to you. Please believe that if I wasn't interested in your piece, I wouldn't comment at all. So, here's a little critique:

The beginning is a little annoying. The deep bass is fine, but the squeaky synth will drive people crazy, I think. It's a little arbitrary.

Then there is a brief ambient section in which you are building on a major triad. This starts off nice as a brooding piece of ambient, then switches over to a major scale feel. This particular section could be made into something, but major triads aren't all that interesting. Maybe some flavor is in order here.

Then it blasts off into ... what ... industrial? That section also could form the basis of a standalone piece. Interesting sounds and a relentless beat. Good.

The section in which the guitar makes an appearance is quite nice -- and promising. But it gets cut off and the "Wipeout" drums come in and a new section starts up. The last section sounds kind of like prog rock. Not bad. Controlled mayhem

So, in summary, it sounds like too many ideas, none of which have been fleshed out, all thrown together with no regard for flow. I realize experimental means "anything goes," and maybe I just don't 'get it.' I hear the beginnings of some great stuff in there, but I think it needs to be pulled apart, and then some attention paid to each section.

The mixing and production sound good to me, but I'm no expert on 'engineering' -- ha! that's for sure.

I hope you find my feedback useful in some way, and I hope you take it as intended -- constructive criticism.

I'll be watching out for new stuff from you.

thanks!
please don't worry about being too harsh! honest comments are about 100x as useful as flowery b.s...

i do realize that there's a lot of switching of gears from one theme to the next, and that's the point. this is intended to be a huge mash-up, and it's not intended to be a "song," it's really a bunch of songs all put together...so it's not supposed to sound like a single cohesive song.

i agree that the individual parts may be too short, and i will tinker around with fleshing them out.

and yes, the ambient major chord building part came out sounding more sterile than i was hoping...so changes are probably in order there.

thanks for the listen and i really appreciate your comment.

Experimental music is any music that challenges the commonly accepted notions of what music is. There is an overlap with avant-garde music. John Cage was a pioneer in experimental music and defined and gave credibility to the form. As with other edge
