Description:
This is one of the first tunes I composed back in 2004, a couple profiles ago (PickMaster) when I originally became a member at MJ's . When I returned my second time in 06, I met SJ. I don't remember how he Sonny Jim and I got together for this one, I think I e-mailed it to him asking for vox or something, Anyway, he sent it back many moons after with these rippin' lyrics and vocals on them. Killer tracks!! Matt! Thanks again.

I did some more "tweaking" here and there (a few hours) and re-mastered.

I hope you enjoy this new version.

Excellent Chris
Wasn't here in 2004 so anything you post is new for me and I think this is a beauty. Man .... you just got it all and put it down so wonderfully. Like this with the lyrics and vocals ... instruments and writing as always tops! Cool post man ... and bless your smoking fingers ... will now download!

Thanks for filling the tank with some hi-test!

I like the stuff SJ did with racerat and I like what he did with you here.

Songs
I am really enjoying hearing all these again. This one is particularly classy. Very expressive vocal performance to go along with the power guitar playing.

Thanks
Bill

Thanks Pete.
The intro guitars I recorded with a volume swell type of effect. That gave it that "sparkle" that you hear.

Again, thanks for the comment.

Starts off good, but...
then it just keeps getting better. Big sound. Powerful and dynamic. Great vocals, and the inestimable PQ kills it dead.

Hauntingly beautiful...
Great tune Chris. It has everything one wants in their HM, stellar production as per usual. SJ did a fabulous job on the vox. Drums and bass might need a bump though, they sound a tad under the mix. It sounds like if you backed the rhythm guitars off just a tiny bit, everything else would sound perfectly balanced. I listened 3 times, the first 2 were with my very expensive studio cans, and then with my regular home stereo phones, and the mix seemed more balanced on my home phones, although I could still hear what I was hearing on the studio phones, just not as distinctly.

I have to commend you for how you write Chris, and while I have never played with someone as talented as you, I have played with more than my share of decent lead players. A common trait seemed to run through all of them for the most part, with the exception of a handful, their EGOS were huge. You on the other hand don't share that trait, your songs are extremely well written and balanced. This song and all of your others prove it. While there is plenty of room for lead fills and intricate licking in this song, you give us a lead solo that blows your mind and nothing more. You let the vox and rhythm section carry the song and I don't know many lead players as skilled as you that can contain their egos long enough to let the rest of the song shine. Bravo brother!! Ok I'm done blowing sunshine.
Peace
Guy

Wow!
Thanks Guy. I really appreciate your in-depth comment.

I agree that the guitars need a little less volume, possibly later on I'll re-post a new mix.

Well, I have to say that I wasn't always that considerate of the "song" in my younger years. I must confess that I too had that problem of wanting to solo over EVERYTHING, but I think with age and appreciation comes restraint. You soon learn that a good solo will only shine with a good song. You can't have one without the other in my book.

Thanks again for the kind words, I appreciate it a lot.

This must have been
one of the very first songs I downloaded from MJ and I have enjoyed listening to it many times.
I will now have two versions so that there is more chance of hearing it during shuffle.
Superb.

Chris!
You're a man obsessed: this has to be the fifteenth mix of this I've heard! This is definitely the best so far. The drums sit really well (nice change on that final bit, too), the guitars are huge and wide, and that solo still leaves me speechless.
As always, it was a real pleasure to work with you on this, and I'm really glad you're back, bro.

My apologies for not showing up until now: I keep all email alerts set to "off" to avoid MJ-fatigue. I think you understand.....!

Let me thank you again for the killer tracks. You did one hell of a job my friend. I appreciate the time and energy you put into this project.

Again, outstanding performance my friend.
