Unconditional love.
Lyrics:
Man of StrawWhile the day's warm, you kick away at your straw man
With the wind in your face, you wish he would blow away
You fall to your knees in the field of your brother
You and your silence, you and your man of straw
Sleeping - you and your man of straw
You're sleeping - you and your man of straw
Brown startled eyes awake from a chilling breeze
You walk toward the light - the light from a house in the distance
And loving arms reach out to hold you
You and your silence, you and your man of straw
Weeping - you and your man of straw
Yes, you are weeping - you and your man of straw
They think you're crazy, they think you're insane - You and your man of straw
But there's love - unconditional love for you and your man of straw
You're living in a world they don't understand You and your man of straw
But there's unconditional love for you and your man of straw.

Thank you. I'm thrilled to be here as well. I love the "We" instead of "Me" vibe here.

haha, Thanks buddy. One of these days I'm going to cover that song.
guitapick
...you can actually sing that middle part while you're doing the fingerpicking/bass line...and still survive?
I'm happy to have you hangin' in these here environs, Miche...love the tune and the lyrics are wonderful.
Feter

than Borders gigs. :p
Can't you hook up with a promoter and do some opening act work?
Nice '60s-folk feel tune. The guitar part is reminiscent of a leaned-down version of Dave Mason's "Only You Know and I Know," but your song has its own personality and power.

Thanks Joe. I'm clueless, don't know the right people and I'm a late bloomer.
I'm void of bitterness though. Maybe "It is to be a virtual artist". I've been thinking about that lately.
pablatone
what a great tune! I didn't know you could get a nylon to punch like that, nice guitar work fambro. You have an excellent voice as well. Gotta go find this smirky vid now.
mvh9591
Welcome to Macjams! Great playing, voice, etc... We can all take lessons from you.
Thanks so much for sharing,

May I offer a rather late welcome to MacJams... This place likes new members, and it's a particular treat when someone brings your high level of talent. You also bring personality and humor, and that's always a good thing. It's great to have you here.
Your skill with your guitar is remarkable, and your soulful, soaring vocal marries to it seamlessly. I am going to enjoy tracking your stay here, and I hope it lasts a good long time. I look forward to enjoying more of your gift of music.
Thanks for bringing your music to us here.
damiengh
Welcome...Welcome...Welcome
What energy you are going to bring to this place (and already have for that matter).
This was a nice brew of percussive guitar strumming, powerful singing with a little hint of Mr. Jareau thrown in, just awesome.
Glad your here for us to hear.
buckhorn
Class act...and you don't take it all too seriously, which is appealing. Good to see you hanging around.
Vic Holman
man this has conviction and power. great tune
SJB
This is brilliant Miche. Your singing and playing are extremely top notch. Are you using a combined pick/fingerpicking style - the guitar sound with percussive tapping is very effective. I hope you up load some more stuff soon.
Steve
fambroski
Thanks stranger. Actually it's finger style ( no pick). I describe it as a bastardized flamenco technique. It's what happens when you can't get the traditional style right. When you're left handed you've got to find your own way.
Pete_NB
I'm blown away by just how many of the fundamentals you've got nailed here. Great percussive energy in the playing, excellent dynamics and those expressive pipes of yours! Not to mention it's a well written and crafted song.
Welcome to Macjams Miche, this place is all the richer for your presence.
fambroski
Thanks Pete. I feel very welcomed here. I've never enjoyed listening to music as much as do since I've been here. Everything being connect to music and well as the people behind it. Sure, I'm into music, but I'm really into people who are in to music. This is a thrilling place (for me).
kristyjo
Love your vocal style here. It's so different from the other post I've already listened to - You are really versatile. The guitar is also excellent. So, now I know what 'bastardized flamenco' sounds like, should anybody ask me. Seriously, though, great stuff, dl&f!
Mystified
Fantastic energy in this song...
I just enjoy listening!! no critiques here.... thanks so much for sharing and posting!
Einarus
Man, I'm glad I decided to troll the chat a bit - otherwise I doubt I'd have found this.
Great playing, terrific vocals and a very good recording.
Honestly, I have nothing not great to say about this.
Fantastic!

Joe Brady
great pipes and fingers. Well put together all around. Production values are astounding. Welcome to jam, let's hear some more.
Joe

Thanks Stranger. It's all done with Logic pro and a Powercore card. As a former (light weight) producer back in the days I use to beat up engineers "No, that's not what I want, could you try...", It's interesting doing it all yourself. What a joyful pain.
rsolorio
Hooked from the first riff, and the juice to carry me till the end. Really terrific guitar work and vocals. Loved it completely.

The strummin enlightens a fire - excellent!!!
What a performance, - and what a great song,
fabulous vocal delivery!!!
Cori Ander
Great!
I love it!
I can feel the backbeat of this song all the way to my toes. A typical drummer comment. You must have to wear white socks to play like this!
fambroski
Oh yeah, I love those white socks.
estellie
what talent. i hope to be a "late bloomer" like you one day. that's incredible!
fambroski
Late bloomers, shy people, wallflowers, introverts, stand up and be ... a little noisy. Someone may want to be like you someday. : ) Thank you Estellie ( pretty name).
Char
attendance at your party. I thoroughly enjoy your gifts. You are a most creative and vibrant soul who brings humor and brilliance into the world of entertainment.
Never forget that you are an exceptionally talented musician and that you are appreciated here. Thanks.
MotherofMeursault
This is perfect: spectacular performance, beautiful recording. Not much left to say.....
hongshan
Extremely warm and well played/sung work. Words cannot truly express - brilliant! Looking forward to hearing more.
