Lyrics:
He is a good chap, my husband, I tell you, neighbour.
There were two women from the same region
asking each other "What's your husband like?"
he doesn't annoy me or beat me,
he does the housework and feeds the chickens
while I enjoy myself.
I tell you neighbour, it's a laugh
when the chickens cluck:
"Little coquette, cockle-doodle-do, What's this?"

I haven't been as active in listening lately (far too much going on 'in real life' these days), but I'm so glad I caught this on the new music list.
A delight to listen to! :)
thank you!

showing us how it's done. But I guess since you teach Choral for a living, it is appropriate that you would be doing that.
Another excellent example of bringing old and very good music into the 21st century. I have to ask you though, did you do all the voices on this song? Because if, as I suspect, you do them all, it is even more amazing.
Excellent work my friend on a very beautiful little song form mankind's past. Bravo to you, and as Feter has a habit of saying, deepest bow Sir.
Be well and be cool,

you are one of the most talented people I know. every song you post is a surprise and total delight! this is just wonderful. great production and as always, gorgeous vocals. I LOVE the beat boxing combined with the baroque feel. Just amazing. Thanks for sharing this!

I love your mix of the really old and the new and now. it took a couple of listens to pull the lyrics out of the beatbox background, but I'm not that proficient in French, so it was a bit more difficult for me, I think. Is this all your voice. it is very impressive!

I love your humor, and your choices of music, your arrangements, and your excellent singing. This brings a smile to my face... especially since I just fed the chickens! :-)
