Description:
Playing around with some instrumentation. Wish I could sing like Desmond Dekker, might bring out some more here. All thoughts as always welcome; been listening to some 70s motor city inspired reggae tracks, also some Lagos funk from the 70s, somehow they are somewhat in here, maybe. And a return to Pidgin English in full force here. Hope you enjoy! Thanks as always for listening to this selfish bastard share his songs.

Lyrics:
Wetin you go do if I no come for your house tonight,(What will you do if I don't show up at your house tonight?)
Na where you go go if I no call your phone
(Where will you go if I don't ask you out?)
Me I no know wetin you want oh
(I don't know what you want)
Wetin you want o, wetin you want o
(What do you want?)
I've been standing here such a long time darling and I
Only know my own heart, oh no
You've been playing games, on and off, and by and by
I can't take it no more, no
Me I no know wetin you want o
Wetin you want o, wetin you want.
Na wetin you go do if I no come for your house tonight,
Where you go go if I no call your phone
Me I no know wetin you want o
Wetin you want o, wetin you want.
I started to call you,
But then I changed my mind.
I started to call you,
But then I changed my mind,
My mind, my mind, my mind o, my mind.
(My mind o, my mind)

I just have to say I love it... And thanks for sharing D-loaded... Cheers
DWL
and very well done.
Loved the language and the delivery.
I'd have really liked a bass and more percussion to be introduced when you start to layer the voices but I always go over the top so ignore me :-)
Thanks for posting.
Cheers

Nice layed back sound. I would have kept the rhythm guitar a little further back in the mix and put in a crisp back beat guitar to help the lovely beat of the song which has a more calypso feel than reggae (maybe your intention). I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing!

The pidgin gives the song a genuine reggae sound. It would be really cool to hear this with a sax player instead of the synth.
Thanks

Thanks Bill. I think you're right on the sax, I'm definitely open if any takers :) I also think DWL is correct on the percussion thing, not too much more, but can imagine one more layer with strong accents every other beat. Many thanks for the listen!!

I think you do a good job on the vocals here. Nice groove, although I'm with Dick on that extra layer of percussion. Guitar sounds good, if a little bare, and perhaps is a bit forward in the mix. Great vibe, and really nice performance. Very cool. Thanks for sharing this. Nothing selfish about that! Peace.

Thanks for writing it all out for people like me :) Your relaxed style of singing is very appealing. I'd agree with the idea that a sax would fit better with the overall sound than the synth. Still - I was really paying more attention to the singing.

sweet harmony...laid back style has us comin' to meet you...very musical. Chorus is infectous. I could hear a clarinet tone under the synth...that would be so cool... a baritone clarinet? Smooth round and reedy. Thanks for posting this!
