Not from Der Freisch:utz... :-) It would be cool to know a little more about this excellent performance. Although the recording volume is a little low, the overall quality is pretty good. Also, the performance is 3 1/2 minutes long, but your uploaded file has 5 minutes of silence after that (audience was stunned with the great flute performance?) :-) So, inquiring minds want to know who Trillium is, where this was performed, etc. Nice choice of music, great playing (although the clarinet at the end was overblowing ever so slightly.) Welcome to Macjams!

Trillium sounds vaguely familiar... maybe I saw them mentioned on classicallounge or someplace?

Welcome to MacJams. This is really well played. The recording isn't bad for a live recording. All of the instruments were well balanced. I'd love more information about this piece, too.

terrific work! I agree with drak that the volume is a bit low, and was also wondering about all the space after the music stops. Wonderful classical sound - thanks!

Thank you all for the feedback. Scherzo is from a trio by Carl Maria von Weber. I'm the flute player and one third of the trio Trillium in Astoria, Oregon. My husband recorded the performance live with one microphone on a Sony minidisc which never seems to disappoint. These are my first efforts to find a platform to share tunes. Watch for more original tunes to come in November when International Tune-a-day Month starts: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/group.php?gid=29549077562

It's always a pleasure to hear live music with real instruments here, so thanks for posting this, and welcome to MacJams!
I hope you find your MacJams experience to be as rewarding as I have. There is an audience for music of all genres here, which is wonderful.
I hope we get to hear more of your performances. Do you perform any modern works?

Yes, we have a few modern pieces that we're working on. One by a composer in California and one from Washington. I actually intend to post my original Celtic tunes starting next week. The classical pieces were just to learn the procedure. I enjoy the sound of real instruments too and actually have a hard time listening to midi files for very long.
