Not easy indeed...
Wow - I'm amazed you managed to stay in tune at all - that sounds a really hard song to sing. I just wish the piano chords were a little softer at times so it didn't swamp your vocals. It got a little painful on the ears on occasion, and a little repetitive. Strange, because you seemed to have two sets of piano in there, but I could only hear the single chord. I would LOVE to hear this with that single chord a little lower in the mix...

That one chord
Thanks for your comments. I took me some time to figure out what Elfdaughter is telling me but that's because I'm not an English native speaker. I now understand that this one chord is so dominant you keep hearing it throughout the whole song, right?

I think it's mainly a matter of one note, the Gflat, while the song itself is in the key of C. I learned this interval is called tritonus but I don't know if this name is common in English. This note dominates the intro, it disappears when the vocal part comes in but then it has already set in your ears - or should I say 'cut into your ears' ;-) Then when you come at the line "The world won't be waiting..." (which I think should be sung by a different voice) the Gflat is back again so it seems that it's never been away.

Well, at least that's what I think is happening to your ears. Maybe I'll make a different mix if I have the time. For now, thanks for listening. If you also want to SEE me singing this song, check Youtube:

Maybe you'll hear it differently then :-)

interesting
i liked the insistent, repetitive piano part.
it made things kind of intense and minimalistic. it could be perceived as a bit challenging to the ear, but hey, it's labelled as progressive.

well done. vocals sounded fine to me.
