Description
I have missed many MacJam Challenges and it seems missed the boat generally when it came to recording and writing stuff.

It was only in 2004/5 that I really emerged from the bedroom (in the music playing sense) blinking a bit like a mole in the daylight and got together with a mate from work and started to jam a little. Then I decided to treat myself to a half decent geetar instead of the old tat, and I mean Old Tat,that I had been using, with so much choice and oh so little dosh the Variax 700 seemed a likely gamble ,27 gtrs in one and it plays like a Gibson..anyway long story short, year later saw Zoom MRS 8 multi track recorder, bought it and in 2006 recorded the original version of the track on offer.I entered it onto MacJams as one of, if not the first track in 2008 and took it off because it was pants,I have redone it cleanedit re recorded gtr and keys and guess what its still pants but you should all have a second chance to suffer.....and it hasa new name .Previously No Vice I present the Theme From J.A.R.Vice.

Second Chance To Suffer
Thanks for punishing us twice!

Nice surfy feel to your guitar and nostalgic keys. Seems to be a lot of surf guitar amongst us these days. Never enough!

Thanks for giving us a second chance, as well as yourself.

Laid Back...
and Status Quo....in the same sentence.....almost like Government and Intelligence....but yes I have heard their albums as well as their singles and as a staunch fan you can believe I am a little flattened...or should that be flattered ....Cheers Len.

Hey!
This is cool high school bedroom music! Uh, let me explain that... first this sounds like stuff I heard when I was in high school... secondly, my "best mate" Dave was lead guitarist in a band (and I was the sound guy... see my woodstockMJ submission).. and he would come over after school and we would overdub him playing stuff exactly like this on his guitar... this really brings back those memories, cool!
ttfn,
Drakonis

I have obviously missed out by being a reclusive ,retiring reprobate who had no confidence in his abilities (still don't) and either that or a Billy Nomates,....verdammt I want a rewind button...Nuuuurse!!

Great jam -
I like the guitar tone and keys - the general vibe is really comfortable. Never too late.

Bud
thanks for dropping in,I never really considered this as a 'surfy' sound but guess what I think folks are right.

Hmmm I bet if I try and do something surfy it'll go wrong...but hey I like this 'surf' handle......do I need some jammies or something now?

Cheers CJ

See above
for the 'Surf' sound,it's not a natural product of East Midlands and North Yorkshire, but I could put some wheels on t'board and scoot off over Pennines..... I don't know what promoted this sound but I may have another go.....thanks.

Second Chance!
I remember decades ago, sitting out in my back yard on blistering hot summer nights, playing my groovy ol' Epiphone guitar until the neighbors began throwing cats at me.... maybe if I'd played cool stuff like this, fate might have been different. Love the surfy guitar!
Jarvoid said 394 days ago (October 27th, 2008)
Don't know
about throwing cats at yer but I got a kitten that's running round this room at top velocity at the minute.....appreciate the comments, accidental vibe must try and encapsulate again.....watch out for the train wreck ;-)

I love your comment
about the 'accidental vibe'. Those DO happen every once in a while, and you have to take them as they come, I guess. Surfy wasn't what i was thinking at first (maybe because it snowed here today) but, yeah I hear it now. Very cool.

I have two questions;
1)How did I not find this before now? The picture looks familiar. I'll bet it was the time my PC crashed. Well, I'm here now and this is almost BeachBoys, but updated.
2) Can I get three replies like Kristy got? Wink, wink, nudge nudge!
Thanks, Chris. You are going to be young at heart forever.

Hi
I really don't know where the Beachy Surfy vibe came from ...but it seems to work, so it can stay........X 3

Does that count or is it a cheat? {80)

OI decided to have a listen to a few of these tunes of yours Chris
this one has a lot of potential to it. I'd love to have the individual tracks for this one, and do a remix on it, just to see what it would sound like.

What you done sound like good material Chris, it just doesn't seem to project the energy that I can hear lying dormant in the parts. you might try seeing if you can boost the Bass and Drums up using EQ. That is of course unless this is the sound you were going for.

As I always do, I'd like to predicate my comments with, this is the deaf gut who's saying this.

Nice bit of picking Chris, thanks for sharing it.

Ah there I have you
it seems that I only have 20-25% hearing in my left ear and this means that I probably am having genuine difficulties in mastering and mixing....I'll ping you a note about the tracks ,you're welcome to have a ferret about with 'em. Sorry late in replying ,however my Monitor ,computerscreen, whatever threw a sicky and was without for a week or two.
