Opera Comique Paris Vienna Spain (1)
Description:
The entr'acte or prelude to Act III of Georges Bizet's opera Carmen. The opera premiered at the Opera Comique of Paris on March 3, 1875, but the opening run was a failure, the work being denounced by the majority of critics. Shortly after the composer's death only three months later, the production in Vienna (October 1875) began its path to worldwide popularity.

Sounds great
Very nicely done, as always. I'm curious about the source of your sounds; is it a GB Jampack? It sounds great!

If Bizet had done nothing more than write Carmen, he would still have earned his place among the greats of music history. Carmen might just be the most popular opera ever written.

Lovely
Thanks for presenting these gems, and some of their background here. You should have a weekly 'cast' of some kind. You choose such wonderful pieces of music, and I learn such good nuggets of information from your posts.

So true
what kristyjo says, this my 7th time listening to this really beautiful piece.

Almost has a Van Go feel to this with the music and description.
Your contribution here is so important because you are bringing out beautiful music. So, so much of radio both the web and street are of accenting the rhythm which can of course be ultra cool of course.
But there is a higher level whether we earthlings want to admit it or not. And you are help making music reach higher realms I think.

Thanks for traveling the "road less taken". So much less taken isn't it M.O? I know I can get caught up in the beat of the day etc. But what precious musical jewels, sweet music like this has to offer !
I think this is about my 6th listen.

I love how you bring back a place in time and make it such a grand beautiful time.

Love how you get such terrific sounds out of your software, it really is almost like listening to a real orchestra.

I'm blown away by the quality of sound in this recording, Scotty. What's the software? Isn't it amazing that you can have this at your fingertips?

Wonderful work, man...thanks .

Lovely, lovely
A great piece of music. Since I don't care for opera I wasn't aware of it, but it's really sweet.

Great orchestration. What software?

Such a beautiful
rendering (with much patience and talent I suspect) of this lovely piece of music. Leaves one with a lump in the throat and from the comments here it just goes to show that there is still a market for these gems, Thanks for this, cheers M

Ah Bizet...
what a great tragedy to have died so young without ever knowing of the love and acclaim that this masterpiece would earn over the years.

I believe he was one of those composers who often had doubts about the worth of his music. It's so hard to believe after hearing this glowing rendition.

This prelude has always be one of my favorites and your rendition is tender and very loving Scotty.
