MIXED FOR HEADPHONES. Thanks to Fambroski for letting me use a guitar piece of his (from Can you Spare Some Change) hopefully he doesnt hate me for what I did with it LOL. I just used a small fraction and cut it up for the intro. Its a strange track, i think it might need some work and changing, so i need opinions on things to keep and things to cut out. Thanks in advance

This song is also mixed well for my PA set up. Sounds great with 1000 watts behind it.
PrototypeEightyOne
Thanks i have yet to play it through monitors so thats great that it actually sounds good through PAs with everything going on in the track. Thanks for adding yourself as a fan i appreciate it, i was unsure how people would react to this track..its "out there". Especially the intro, first 10 sec. i really enjoy it though, I try to be different.
egobandit
all the right spots. Love the crazy bass in this. Some nice git on this .To bad there is no download! Excellent mix on this enjoyed!
PrototypeEightyOne
ego thanks sorry i didnt respond back sooner i didnt see the post. i really do appreciate the comment and the time u took to listen. took some time to put this together.
Konscious
got a lot going on in this one, song is definitely different from most of what i've heard from you, but it sounds pretty cool, was this made for lyrics or just the instrumental ? Love the creativity on this one.
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks Kon, probally my most creative and "out there" piece of work.. im just so happy im not the only one who enjoys its uniqueness lol
TracyVosh
UFOs...Is your creativity never ending? Could you rub some o' that off on me? Love that guitar mixed in there, sweetness.
fambroski
You are one baaad dude. I don't hate you for this, I only hate that I couldn't be so hip and creative. : )
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks fambro. your guitar work and your music actually inspired this as strange as it sounds. Your jazzy/bluesy guitar put me in another zone, and am i ever glad i got to experience that zone. i loved making this track, and honoured to work with such a talented musician.
we definatly need to do this again!
drakonis
Area 81 will never be the same... I think the aliens broke into the fridge in the rec room, stole Miche's guitar, and started jammin'.
You kept the interest all the way through... weird sounds and mix, but it actually sorta works, and by the end, I was hearing E.T. elevator music.
ttfn,

I was sitting in the rec room minding of own business then suddenly my guitar vanished and...

Props to you Prototype!! I think the only thing missing from this most awesome musical experience is some Spitlogic dropping some knowledge. I'd love to hear his voice on this track!
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks man, i totally neclected your response to this, i didnt see it. Thanks i really appreciate that, this track took a hell of a lot of work and effort. Agreed spit logics voice would fit nicely in the mix.

I love the segueway between F'ski's guitar to the ambient hip hop sound...it may just be the speakers and headphones...but I hear a bass track, just don't hear it as bass tones (read: deep and thumpy), am I just not hearing it?
How it goes from lots of music to softer tones (for instance the change at 2:35) is really nice, gives the listener's ears a chance to "breathe" so to speak.
PrototypeEightyOne
i have trouble tweaking bass and having it sit nicely, but i think it sounds ok in this track. but mark hol was saying something along the same lines..like it needs to be louder or more present. i'll have to experiment with it..
do you think it should be changed, or is it fine the way it is.? i really enjoy this track and feel i need to make it as complete and as good as possible. thganks for the feedback btw!
EEFliess
just fine tune the level of the bass, I think that will nail it, in my opinion

PrototypeEightyOne
thanks that seems to be what everyone is saying so i will defently experiment more with the bass. i find bass very hard to work with and hard to fit in the mix sometimes.
PrototypeEightyOne
oh yea and theres actually 2 different bass tracks going in some parts. sequenced differently.
Confounded
I really enjoyed it, and it actually sounds pretty well in 5.1 set too! Drums was written pretty well also, what software do you use for drummings? is it garageband?
PrototypeEightyOne
For this track i used a stock Kit from cubase4 and sequence it.
apocafunk
a heavy/eclectic mesh of sounds. I dig it man! the fq's have a good balance across the board. only suggestion, maybe some verb on the cymbal lines (to give presence). it sounds like what I think a hip hop track done by Zappa would sound like. very cool
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks for the props dude, i love this vibe. I picture little green aliens getting into some shit, u know?
input noted, i'll mess with the cymbals try to give it more vibrance.

This is really well put together. The production is really clean considering there is so much going on. I wish I understood how to do this stuff.
PrototypeEightyOne
very much appreciated. Trust me if i can accomplish this, anyone can. it just takes time, experimentation, and most importantly patience. ive been mixing vsts in daws for a couple yrs now. so trust me it didnt happen overnight!
Char
very much. Kept hopping all the way through. Miche was abducted and now the whole galaxy wants to play. Thanks.
PrototypeEightyOne
Thank you char, i would have never been able to make this without Fambroskis guitar lines.. Once I heard the song he did it got my creative juices flowing.
