Description
I decided that rather than try to force this song into a particular mood, I'd develop it and see how it would turn out. So here is the version where I just let the song develop into the genre and mood it wanted to be in. I removed the spooky FX and replaced it with a more subdued beginning to give the impression of a wayfarer resting by the side of the lonely path...

The fx are the only loops, all the rest is composed in notational software and given 'life' with EWQLSO. I think I'm improving when it comes to notated rather than looped music. I'll be doing most of my music in this form from now on, especially seeing as how my massive loop library got lost in the last crash.

The game version
was nice and well made too, but of course on an ordinary day I'd prefer this one just for listening. Very well done! I like the sparseness(?) of the few tracks, let each one sink in. Very emotional. Both versions end a bit abruptly, that's my only nit.

Sorry about your crash(es). It seems something good is coming out of it, though :-)

Thanks,

/Henke

composition
This is a very nice composition.

At the beginning, the FX came up in level pretty quickly - it reminded me of the opening of a door to the outside, maybe it was intentional. The end is a little abrupt.

My impression of the instrument voices is that they are a bit synthetic, especially the violin/viola and the human-like voice.

But to finish my unqualified rambling, let me say again that I think this is a nice composition.

Very pretty
Pretty in a melancholy sort of way. I was waiting for your real voice to enter with a short song or spoken word poem. I'm glad to see that you are transitioning to this kind of composition, although I'm sure it was painful to lose your loop library!
I think it would be nice to end with the same fx that you started with, as if the traveler has stopped for a moment, lost in thought, and then rouses herself to continue on her journey, hoping to reach shelter before nightfall . . .
