Description:
This is a rehearsal recording on my trusty H2 with just a little EQ tweak in GB. Recorded Thursday night before our gig at the Burning Man NYC Decompression Party Saturday night. See above photo - I'm the guy in the plaid suit. By then I had written some more lyrics so I didn't have to repeat myself - but it hardly matters since the vocals are pretty buried. Splinter is LSD25 - guitar/vocals, Stu Michael - bass/vocals, Mark Mazzye - drums, Bud - guitar/vocals.

We had a blast at the party - though it rained quite a bit and we played outside. The whole scene was pretty intense - but we forgot to record it so this is as close as it gets. Final rehearsal.

Whole lotta energy goin' on here. Sounds like an extended rap with a big old loop thrown in for good measure. The beat is ... is ... is ... inescapable!
And all of this with no cover charge? Cool.

The louder you listen the more sense it makes. lol. Thanks Paul - you're such a loyal fan - you get a permanent back stage pass. That loop is three guys stuck on Em for four minutes. We do have other songs with changes - one even uses seven chords I think.

INCREDIBLE ....!! now that s woodstock evokative

I loved H2 will gonna say it over and over, what a
jammin sound ...ROCK ON !!!!
bud
glad you can dig the sound - we're lining up another gig soon and hopefully will get a decent recording and video.

i like the jammin' punk attitude. makes me think of a cool meld of 60's San Fran meets NY 70's punk.
Very trippy and i hope you guys can get some more gigs lined up to show the young ones what rockin out is all about.
bud
I just made a myspace for the band but made sure to keep our ages off of it so we can play in some of the rooms my daughter used to gig in. ha!

pretty heavy sound... I like it.
drums and bass go together really nicely.
wicked guitar. must have been a good show!
bud
thanks for stopping by. Mark and Stu pack a wallop.
lengold
Mitch Mitchell on the drums - great bass too. Great anarchy with the guitar. Wonderful listen - wish I could have seen the show.
You will have to get much louder though if you want to match your suit!
Cheers

We already have amps that go to eleven - what else can we do?
hope your show went well.....next time i'm in nyc i'll check the local gig guide. thanks fer the dl.
bud
definitely say hi if you come to NYC.
cjdaley
is the best one. You're not so much stuck in it than driving it home.
bud
we also like to pound it into the ground or drill it into your brain. It's definitely my favorite too.

Live music, always the best. Surprisingly good for a little stereo recorder.Drums and bass come over really well.
Cheers

Next time I've gotta position for a little more guitar in the mix - but the H2 is a cool little piece of gear. The suit belonged to a friend who was glam in the 70's.

Air synth...what'll they think of next?
Steady rock 'n roll, bud...sorry I couldn't make it...but glad you did.
bud
like a mini theremin and kaos pad in one. BTW - I booked a gig in Bushwick in November - details later. Let me know the next time you play out.
guitapick
...I saw them long ago, playing that theremin...

getting down in that suit". Best to dazzle with flash. Thanks for dropping b Harold.
tempie
dude, cool suit. great tune too. reminds me right away of the Black Keys - that live, punk and trashy blues sound. sitting at my desk now but feel like i'm in a muddy mosh pit. thanks for the dl!!
bud
it was a miserable night not fit for man nor beast - but perfect for us.
five_extra_arms
Bud, you look so cool!
Hard to believe it's one chord. Glad you didn't use a G or I would've probably hated it. Maybe not.
This kinda has the intensity of a Big Black song, or probably more of a Butthole Surfers tune. I bet you rocked the house!
bud
there actually is a G in there - but just added to the bottom of the Em and mostly played in the bass. Think "Foxy Lady" - it was hard to stay out of that territory.
...so it's no surprise that you sound very much alive here Kevin!
Splinter rocketh!
Be well friend!
