just a mellow tune about bein' in love
Lyrics:
take off your shoesgo on get comfortable
we got our whole lives
ahead of us
we can talk all night
if we want to
about this and that
this and that
this and that
and the other thing
you and I
we've seen it all
we've watched them come and go
but baby

thank you so much for checking this one out my brother.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. It does my heart good to think that my music has been played on the other side of the world. It's like a vacation without the jet lag.

gentle song. Like the relaxed and easy feel - getting a definite Paul Simon vibe from it. Everything perfect. Real Class. Downloaded. Thanks.
Cheers

this one's so mellow even a stone could dance to it.
Paul Simon? very cool! thanks, Graceland is in my top ten all time list. I guess I where my influences on my sleeve.

Percussion suits this tune perfectly. Sets quite a mellow mood. Soothing to the ears. Agree with Len's Simon comment.
Really enjoyed.

I'm glad you like it. I was kind of shooting for something that was as understated as possible, trying to get the feeling of two people very content with each other's company. Like when things are going good in the household, and nothing in particular is happening and you stop for a second and think- "this is so good!"
Rocha Malhada
A long song, but sometimes it's easy to go on about some things :)
Thanks for the D/L,

Yeah, it is a little long I guess.
I'm kinda hoping people will dance to it more than just listen.

get some wonderful lush sounds from your LP 8 and this one sounds s-s-so-o-oo easy and comfortable and .......ready for radio. I love the guitar tone ( the solo is delicious... thrills my solar plexus) and the vocals/ harmonies as always are perfect, the congas too are a great touch. You get such a 'natural' un-electrical sound, if you know what I mean. Love it, just love it, regards M

I'm glad you like this tune, it seems like I'm starting to find my "voice" again after a long hiatus. (I was off for about 10 years), I've been trying to approach the tunes as if it was a band playing, and I've always loved the sound of acoustic instruments, they are by far my first musical love. I'm glad you like the solo too. I got a CAD small condenser mic that really captures the tone I hear when I'm playing, it makes all the takes I have to do to get a keeper not so bad.
thanks again!
Moviz
what you mean about 'finding your voice again' as I had a 20yr absence and am still finding it LOL...... and it's true that you loose it if you don't use it, but you found yours OK, cheers M

I think you have my cat's evil twin!
One of the sweet things about music is that you have to give it for it to even be. I've heard that if a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, then no sound was made. So I figure if you play a song and nobody hears it, then it doesn't exist.

I think my fav parts are the placements of the harmonics of the guitar. But of course your voice is nice to listen as well. Like the indian chant sound as well.
Thanks for sharing

Yeah, I did a lot of takes on the guitar solo, but I think that simple turned out to be the best choice, too many notes seemed to take away from the over all feel of the tune so I laid back more than is my habit. I have all those notes on that guitar, I just hate to let them lie fallow. But cramming them all in didn't work.

Wow this is niiiiiiiice .. the song has a powerful combination of sweet softness and alertness.
The guitar recordings are great. I myself find it very difficult it is to get the guitar so soft and full of tone at the same time. The solo is gorgeous! The vocals too! A very special gem in my music collection from now on.
pablatone
Guitar tone can be pesky. Here's how I got this one-
I used a small diaphram conderser mic (CAD) at the 14th fret about 8" away, and a behringer B2 large condenser mic at the bridge about the same distance. I used a blue tortex pick for the strummin', and a green gator grip pick for the leads. I was blown away by the tone myself. I worked hard on not attacking the strings too much on the solo too.
Vic Holman
man, i dig the mellowness here. I'll go with the P. Simon influence.
excellent work and vocal harmonies. Are you playing the bongos here?
pablatone
I wish I could say yes but, no the conga is a green apple loop that I edited a little for some variation. It sure sounds good though don't it?
Thanks for checking out the tune.

I'm gonna adopt you, take you to my jungle lair, and raise you as a liberal...No kidding...
I also want you to traipse on over to my page and listen to my song 'Marigold', only because we share an opening line... How often is THAT going to happen?...
I like the lovely hollow bonk of the congas; enough wood in the tone to suit the acoustic guitar and the vocal and general ambience. I also love the vocals, lead and background, and the way you play guitar... The bass is nice and deep, too, which suits this...
Neat tune, Paul...
Ed

Yeah, I love that conga tone, it's about as perfect as you can get. Thank you for checking out the tune, I'll go listen to marigold right now.

It took me away instantly. I see similarities like the previous posters to other famous artisits, but thats where we get our influence from, since the beginning of time. Excellent mixing, guitar tone is perfect. Love the vocals as well. Its your own. Feel like Im at the beach in some far off island with the person i love. Well Done!
Moses
this took me to the beach as well, and I took my shoes off and got comfortable watching the sun set in the cool evening ocean breeze without a care, and the people I love close to me just enjoying each others company. The lead guitar midway through was a nice touch, yet it doesn't overcomplicate the track. The tune is easygoing and simple. A good tune to get me ready for finals week. =)
pablatone
Thanks for checking the tune out. I'm a sucker for love songs, so it's nice to be able to write one occasionally.
