Description:
This was the first idea I had for remixing Radiohead's "Reckoner," which they offer up the individual tracks of on Amazon for doing just such a thing. (I'm not sure that sentence is grammatically correct.)

I've got other ideas, but this was the first one that hit and I decided to go with it for now.
It's got holes, sure, but I like it. I called it Trip Hop cause I just can't think of what else to call it.
As always, I look forward to any ideas you have to improve it.

Cool remix. I almost like this better than the original because of the R & Bish/Motownish spin you put on it. Has a nice mellow downtempo quality to it too.

That's my motto for remixing in general. My musical ear was formed around the early 90's East Coast Hip-Hop scene, which drew and sampled largely from Motown, Stax Records, Chess Records and the like. Ali Shaheed Mohammed, DJ Maceo (Plug 3), and Prince Paul are my producer heroes I suppose. That means I like basslines you feel in your chest, beats that make your neck flex and sweet or dark and lilting melodies floating over that top.

I like the tremolo, and the overlapping of verse and refrain. I LOVE dissonance!
You know what else? I like that "ripples" is rippling. Brilliant! Isn't his voice to die for?
It's on my to re-mix those clips that have been made available, even though I have no business doing that (I can barely mix my own songs!).
I love what happens starting at around 2.53.
Not sure how I feel about the snare and trumpety sounds...I'd experiment with the sounds of those...
Fantastic!!! I'm so jealouse ;)
