Description
The composing I've been doing lately has been for animations I've worked on. They're usually 30 seconds long and take a day to do. But I figure, "what the heck, why not put some of it up." This is a short piano piece that underscored an animation of calendar pages flipping by. It's been projects like this that have forced me to learn Protools and Sampletank. Well, it's gotten me away from using loops in Garageband. An important step forward for me.

This was essentially done for a video on an e-mail landing page, but the closest category I could find was "Film Scoring". Oh well, it's the work that counts.

Very effective...
Sort of philip glass in terms of minimalism - but I can see it being very complimentary for an animation short!

Thanks
Philip Glass was the first that came to mind when trying to describe the piece. I'm sure someone will find another to compare it to as a description,

Since I've gotten into motion graphics and video editing, it's been nice to be given opportunities to create music for these short visual productions. I look forward to doing more.

Really nice -
I'd like something short and classy like this for my cellphone ringtone. Except my phone is too old to load these things on it for that. Little snippits of music like this add so much to other projects. Thanks for sharing yours with us. (Maybe there should be a 'snippits' category for ringtones, DVD menu music, webpages and that kind of thing.)

Yeah!
That's a great idea! You should post that in the forum or wherever suggestions are made. Thanks so much for the feedback. I'll have to post more stuff like this.

Cool musical vignette, Phil
Thank you for describing what you wrote this for. I could see the calendar pages flying off as I listened. Very effective mood capture.

Nice and delicate
Maybe you should take this and expand on it. Would make a great 3 to 4 minute song. Nicely done.
