Description
Hello, fellow MacJammers. It's been a long time since I released some new music here. Sorry for the lengthy hiatus. Well, here is what I hope to be the first of many, many new songs to come. I recently started creating in Logic Pro 8, and this after trying my hand at Pro Tools LE, which didn't turn out to be my cup of tea (no offense to those who use PT, "the industry standard," but it just wasn't my thing). I have found that Logic works like a dream, and this is my first recording in Logic. Also, this is the first recording I've done with my new hollowbody Ibanez, which works and sounds like a dream, as well; finally, no more having to tweak the EQ in Garage Band to get my Alvarez acoustic to sound like something that kind of resembles a jazz box. This new guitar is the real deal and I am thoroughly excited about. I wasn't sure under which "genre" to post this new composition, so I hope I got it right by choosing NUjazz, which is a completely new style for me. Logic Pro 8 has opened more doors than I can count or much less walk through. So, let the experimenting begin! I'm all for embracing the new: new instruments, new hardware, new software, new song, and even a new president whom I'm proud to call "President." (Yes, I had to include that plug.) It's been a good week, folks. Enjoy!

Thanks!
Thanks for the wonderful comment. I agree with you: Alvarez guitars are awesome guitars. I own an Alvarez acoustic. I wouldn't trade it for any other acoustic brand. Thanks for listening and for the comment.

Sweet Nu-Jazz
Definitely positioned this in the right genre. Overall it sounds very polished. Love the little hip-hop tweaking here and there. This song could venture off into the usual smooth jazz fare, but you have enough change-ups and quirks going along with the engaging melodies to elevate it to a much more interesting tune. Reminds me a lot of George Benson, especially the guitar tone. I did think the bass was a tad low in the mix sometimes, seems like the kick over-powered it some. The ending seemed a bit abrupt too, but these are minor quibbles. Thanks for posting this cool song.
