Description
I made this song using only sounds from video I recorded while my wife was in labor with our first child (a girl).

Just a note: I had to upload this song to macjams since it was still set to play via a url. which is why it is shown as a newly submitted song.

creepy crawly!
Did she give birth to an alien baby? or a lizard? or
evil spirits? This is the most haunting thing I have
heard on this site! I think it was more effective
because the sounds were based on real sounds.
That just creeeeeeeeped me out majorly. I loved the
"you're so beautiful" at the end. What does your wife
think of what you did here?

creepy crawly!
hehe. I agree that it is very creepy. To tell you the truth it didn't sound that creepy as I was making it but once I listened to the finished product it really sounded weird. My wife also thought it was creepy/scary but she liked it. Especially the end as you did which I think kind of takes the creepiness down a notch.

...and voyueristic
Wo. Very unique. Creepy, most certainly; and
embarrassingly voyueristic. The way you cut things up,
creating a weird pacing, used such personal moments,
goodness. Even those little ticks you get when cutting in,
which would otherwise be annoying, are something
organic to the process. This is special. (Glad you kept the
actual video private, at least.) But I'd let the ending
echoing tail off longer with reverb, after all that work it is
too sudden a cut off. Nice song art, too.

...and voyueristic
thank you. Usually I would've taken the tics out but I did think it added a nice percussive sound to the song so I left them in. I did mean to make the ending trail off too but for some reason I just forgot to do it. I will try to do that when I get a chance.

musical moan
I really liked the way that you brought out the musical
quality of moaning. Especially since it didn't seem to
have much of a musical quality at the outset. But at the
end, right before your daughter gives her first cries, it
almost sounds Middle Eastern. Cool concept, great
execution.

I haven't heard anything...
this spooky since the Greatful Dead's WHAT'S BECOME OF THE BABY! Very
creative, this. Though not likely to be a chart topper (LOL).

this is so good...
recoding your sounds is the way to the success.
It's spectral and cryptic, but effective!!!

Excellent job!!!
