Description:
This "new" version of M n M features some of Chris Cihon's amazing guitar work. This was actually a first draft, Chris had some other ideas for finishing it up and then something happened to his GB folder and all was lost and later forgotten. I just stumbled onto this version the other day and Chris said it was okay to share with you. I may put together another version of this later, so feel free with the suggestions and criticisms :) Check out more of Chris' work at:

Love the guitar start and then how the band comes in and hits it.
Nice chord progression and energy to this one.
Bass line drives the whole thing into overdrive. ood change of pace in the middle section too,
Very cool jam guys, but who played what?
Very cool,
Ed

Ooh, I forgot how long ago the first version came out. The original has only the opening guitar, and keys, very sparse: its one of my biggest MJ hits ;) Here Chris adds rhythm guitars, bass, and some additional leads, but he leaves that middle part completely alone, to interesting effect. The drums are loops. There is also a version featuring some bass by me and percussion by GregD, its kind of a Jazz Fusion version. Hate to leave a song the same :)

volunme ?? ,....just a nice rockin one ...kudoS !!!
peacepiano
Didn't mean to cook your speakers. Glad you like Chris's additions to the tune.

...knew who wrote what here...Your explanation is so complicated. Nevertheless, this number just cooks along with all sorts of vitality and sounds very nicely mixed to my ears. I am not sure where it is going, though...the stopped chords about 2/3 in are very effective...and then you reprise the beginning, but I am still not certain if this is heading anywhere in particular. I love the SOUND, though. Such a full orchestration...don't know if these comments are in the slightest helpful.
Peace.

Sorry for the confusion. Its been over a year since this was recorded. Chris made no changes to the GB file I sent him, which included what you can hear on the original M and M (http://www.macjams.com/song/31363) plus the drum loops I was toying with. What Chris added is a lot of Guitar and bass parts over the original guitar and keyboard duet. And sure enough you noticed the same cool build up without a grand conclusion when you listened before :) When I first heard this version I was not sure about how Chris treated the second half, but now I think he could have taken it to a more logical ending if I had been more receptive. Sadly what happened is that Chris went a completely different direction after my comments and later lost his GB files and for a while all was forgotten.

Wow! Not to be pulling my own chain, but this does sound good! Damn, I wish I still had the original tracks (ugh!).
Now I have a duplicate folder that I created so I don't make the same mistake twice.
Your right, It does have a B.O.C. flavor to it. What do you think about getting someone to perform some vocals for this?
Anyhow, Thanks for letting me mess with this. As far as I remember, I had a lot of fun doing it.
Sounds great!
peacepiano
Thanks for playing on this tune Chris. Your good enough to yank your own chain once in a while! Sometimes we need to set things aside for awhile to really appreciate them.
magnatone
LOL - PULL THAT CHAIN Chris! This ROCKS! I absolutely love this song - i'll be listening to it for the rest of my life. GREAT work!
peacepiano
Thanks for the Kudos. Chains and ALL.

Oooh, I love how stuff just spirals around like R and theta in non-Euclidian space! Great melodic melding of keyboard and guitar work. Although the guitar is almost too overdriven in a couple spots for my taste, the overall piece of music is really quite pretty, super playing on both parts, very pro-sounding work.

Its amazing what images come up on Google search when you type in a song title. I really appreciate your comments. Chris's guitars add a third dimension to my nice but kind of two dimensional original.

More of this please! :-) It suits me very nicely: I like the softer "keyboardier" parts, but when I have listened too much to that sort of music it is a great relief to get some heavy overdriven guitars ;-) Here I get a bit of both worlds, which is great! Downloaded for future enjoyment. Thanks!

Like a good wine, this recording seems to improve with age. The contrast between the key solo and the other parts is dramatic. Glad you enjoyed the tune :)

collaboration, great sounds and production.

Good to hear from you. Chris is great to work with!
bud
rock n roll. Cool production with the middle break and rebuild. Well done.
peacepiano
Thanks for listening. I like what Chris did with the break too :)
egobandit

Soaring drive.
You guys are great! Nice weave!
peacepiano
Thanks for the listen!

You found out a very nice way to put together the "rock" guitars and the keyboard .
This could become a song , there is room for a lead singer.
Cool collab .
peacepiano
Chris thinks there is room for some vocals too. Maybe some cool vocalist could come up with some words for this. Words are not my forte :)
guitapick
Great collaboration, guys. Up theme...makes me feel great!
peacepiano
Always happy to post an uplifting theme. Thanks.
Char
Terrific! Thanks, guys. I had to get up and dance. Original sounding but with a familiar beat. Still jumping around. Yeah!
peacepiano
We thank you! Keep dancing :)

This sounds very impressive. The production is excellent. But, eh, the music just spins chords and not a whole lot happens. You need either a vocalist, or someone to play Steve Morse riffs over this.
peacepiano
Good comment. Chris thinks it needs vocals also. I'm not much of a word smith, though, so if anyone would like to try....
Confounded
I very much enjoyed listening to this piece, it was well preformed, and very well written as well. it's enticing, and peaceful at the same time, as your name mentions it also! :)
very nice job.
peacepiano
Thanks so much for the comments. Even when I try to be rockin' there is still some peace to the music :)
Confounded
That shows the inner peace in you, and it's good! not many have it... :)
dajama
This sounds great - love the guitar work on here. It rocks and grooves and just powers along. The arrangement is very effective, bringing great dynamism to the track, and I love the instrumentation. There is a real sense of a broad palette of instruments. Professional sounding mix, and wonderful sound overall. very cool. Nicely done to everyone involved. Peace.
peacepiano
Thanks for the comments. I will have to let Chris know, he is the power guitar guy!
segiperkasa
That was very cool song.. wonder if I can put in some guitar works in it...
peacepiano
I'd be glad to have you add some guitar to this. If there are already too many voices on this track you might want to try the original track at http://www.macjams.com/song/31363, its very simple, just the keys and sunburst guitar, or the second version with jazzier drums and bass added: http://www.macjams.com/song/35294. If you are using GB and want to really change things I could send you the GB file also.
musicmitigation
finally got around to checking you out, I'm happy I did. Very well done, and really something you can jam to.
peacepiano
Thanks for the listen, it's always a treat when another macjammer plays along on a tune.
Char
This one should be famous. Bill and Chris.. love it. Thanks.
peacepiano
You are too kind :) Glad you liked this one. Guess I need to be more open mninded when I get collab work, this should have gone right out!
