Description
When Wildlife Analysis posted his "Interlude #2" up as an Open Collaboration, I immediately thought I could do something with it.
I loved the breezy, free feeling of the song, and after improvising four tracks of vocals, I mixed it up a bit in Logic, turned some things inside out, and came up with this Ambient treatment.

Thanks for the opportunity to mix this track up, WA :)

Hope you all enjoy....

yo
cool idea i liek the sound and blend of the sounds and how one track was being played backwards.. But i didnt hear to much variation through out the track, i was waiting for it to break into something different or some different elements to appear..I like the idea but think more can be done with this. I'de like to hear more going on, whether it be instr or more vocal layers..feels it needs something more to be complete..

nice track

Yes...
...you're absolutely right. More definitely could be done with this, and I did consider it--then decided to post what I had.

I am working on several other creative projects at the moment, and knew if I didn't take an hour or two out and experiment with this, then I'd never get around to it at all.

So it is what it is. Sorry if it disappoints, but in the end, if anyone enjoys it for what it is, then it was worth sharing.

Thanks, Mark
I was recording vocals for another collaboration when I took a few minutes to improvise these, which is often how I do spur-of-the-moment pieces like this.
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for taking the time to let me know.

Whoa
Mystified, this was incredibly cool. Not only did you do something to push this in a new direction, but you've given me some new ideas for future pieces. The second half of this tune is especially interesting to me. Thanks for taking a stab at this, I'd love to do it again!

drifting slowly downstream...
looking up at the clouds and trees drifting by... I love the occasional backward effects, cool and breezy harmonies laced over WA's beautiful tune. Nicely done you two!

Breezy and carefree...
...is totally the vibe I felt from this piece, and one reason I had to work with it. So much of my music is NOT like this, so it was fun to weave my vocals around WA's track.

very nice cat
this is great. i can see where prototype eighty one was coming from, but respectfully disagree. this is perfect as is to me. it's like an album track, only you don't have the benefit of hearing it in the context of a larger work. really liked how you mixed this one up, and of course the vox are really nice. what effects did you use on this one? really liked the feel once the backwards sounding track came in, almost sounds like gleetchlab. great track.

thanks michael
I'm still trying to figure out 'ambient,' (I'm a classical music girl!) but I love the idea that it doesn't have to be 'strict' in its form and can wander and drift.

I used very basic effects--platinum reverb and echo on the vox, and on the last instrumental track I assigned the "Delay Designer" under "Simple Patterns">>Rhythm Ghost. I may have dabbled with the effect a bit--I tried several things before I decided on that one.

It was a lot of fun to work on. Thanks for listening and for commenting :)

Very dreamy-
I do like the backward track in there- I wasn't sure how you got that sound until I read a little more. I think your title pretty much describes it. Nice vocals over an excellent bed. I can see P81's point, but I'm learning to expect less melodic movement in a piece in the ambient genre.

Sweet!
I started to listen to it while looking at the foggy morning here in Portland Oregon. Very relaxing and sweet music. The melodies are very well crafted and distributed. This piece is going to my MP3 player.

Exelente!

I'm a sucker for backwards stuff...
This is a a neat soundscape. It may not 'go anywhere' but it starts out in a just fine 'where' to begin with...
