Description
Make-up series part 2.

As you may already know, I've fallen way behind in my song posts and have recently begun to upload my projects from last spring.

This tune is the second project from my music technology class. We were assigned the project to practice working in Reason, which is the program I used to make the song. Aside from the program mandate, I was given total compositional freedom. The piece was inspired by the bass sound, which was the first instrument I created with Reason's Subtractor synth. One of my goals with this project was to make good use of the sound system in the classroom, in particular, to make use of a very powerful bass bin. Well, I managed to get the room shaking pretty hard when this song was played during presentations week, it was a pretty good feeling. :)

Stay tuned.

listening
with headphones and its incredible the depth and levels of textures you've captured. The ethereal piano was sooo nice. Exactly what I'd want to listen to if I was waiting for a 3am flight. It would keep me smiling and head bobbin. You gonna work it into a longer piece?

Hey Karmato, thanks for the listen. It's unlikely that I'll extend the song, but I'm glad you wanted to hear more of it. :)

Beautiful
It's cool to see that you're getting into reason a little (or was it ONLY homework and no fun? ;)) Reason can do some cool stuff. How long had you been working with the program before this? This is really nice stuff. Loungey feel to it. Very nice.

For the time being, I've just been rewiring into Logic. I do like Reason a lot, but I'm having this technical problem that asks me to insert the installer disk every time the program starts up. It's sort of inconvenient for me to use Reason, but maaaaaan, the devices in that program are just incredible!

Yes,
Great bass - I can understand why it was the basis for the composition. Thanks for posting this project here.

The Control Tower doesn't sound like this, I spent alot of time there, you have on the other hand captured the airport ambience, some of the swells were excessive to my ear, especially the last one, but it's homework? I would like to hear you work on something just 'cos you want to bring it to life! Outstanding...
