Description:
Dedicated to Paul and his squad, THE TRUNK MONKEYS. On his 3rd tour. Years ago whilst in college I wrote this with my jammin’ buddy, Dave. Our servicemen who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan call that area, The Sandbox. This song is really for all of our soldiers. God bless you all. Stay safe!

yo
cool track, i didnt really catch a war vibe of it though to be honest. seemed to lighthearted and funky. i was diggin those crazy off pitch synths that come in, that was cool. i enjoyed listening to it, it was different..which is what i like.. cool stuff man and good first post..im fairly new as well. been here about a month, check out my stuff if u get a chance.

if you get a chance check out the track on my page called "war torn". its based on war as well, im currently searching for bush speeches to incorperate on the intro. vocals/lyrics will follow.

ya - you're right - not really a war vibe. The Trunk Monkeys are into the day to day - a lot of boring moments flashed in with an IED or two. I mainly wanted to provide a diversion for them from the mundane over there. Thanks for the comment. I'll go check out your tunes

radical timing
Hey I really like the timing on this, nice and and full of "vibrant" instrumentation. Cool song!

Kind of Out...
Kind of nice. They don't make music like this anymore. It could work as part of its own suite, part of a larger work.

insightful
Thanks for the comment. You were right about not making it anymore. I actually wrote this back in my college days back in late 70's. It was performed maybe twice - back then it was a guitar / alto sax tune. I've really been thinking about what you said about adding it into a suite. Very nice idea!

Interesting piece...
Good keyboard lead with some interesting turns here and there...

BTW - I used your crowd noise for one of my pieces, thanks a lot for that!
