Description:
This just came out. My songs seem to come in bunches around this time of year. Its my buffer against the holidays.
This song took a bit of fine tuning to get just this far. I still don't like some of the vocals. And my piano skills stink. Where is Bill Peace when I need him??? I also dont like some of the mix. But Im still getting better at mixing.. I hope.

When I first heard this I thought of Bob Dylan with the Beatles in a jam! Very COOL concept!
This is very creative and unique style I much enjoyed.
I do like the vocals guitar and piano. I would be interested to hear the original take of this.
Holley :)

This is the original..The only way to hear the basic song. Is to have sat and listen to me play my 1957 Harmony guitar with me singing to the T.V. hahaha!!
Thanks for the listen and stop by!!!!
regulus
more a cross over type of country and the Grateful Dead. Fun and entertaining. But I don't think there is a genre for that.
Jerry Garcia would liked to have played along with this. But you have a great work here, as the components of a finely produced song ring out very well in being constructed and produced. Good balance and composition.
I guess I 'll have to check out your other tunes

I like to make up genres..Its funny because Im not a country fun . And I dont know much about the grateful dead. But thanks for the kind words. Please do listen to my other songs. So are ok,,,so are real bad. But remember these are just demos . Thanks for the stop by!!!

Regulus stole some of my thunder. I thought I could hear some of the more mainstream Grateful Dead efforts as I listened to this also. I like the song and the piano is a bit simplified, could you send over the GB file and let me know what key or chords your using, I'd like to see what I can do accompaniment wise.

I just sent Bill the song without piano. So look forward to a new studio version of this song!! Thanks bill!!

hey man just stumbled onto this going thru the new stuff - i hadn't heard you before but will spend some time now checking out your catalog - what a great song! love the shambling, honky tonk feel - immediately reminded me of the stones country stuff. terrific intimate vocals (witty lyrics - i like that "fatal scene" turn of phrase), simple but catchy leads, etc - a fun listen - thanks!

Welcome to MacJams. Thanks for looking into my songs. This one is going to go to the the studio real soon. It didnt start out to be a country song. But it kind of ended up that way. Thanks again for the listens

i can tell you are getting better at mixing.
i'm not a fan of twangy/country-type music either. But this song has a cool structure. and your bass line is contagious.
i'm glad you're getting through the holiday season this way!
musichead
I feel myself getting a little bit better. But I still have a long way to go.
I didnt mean for this song to have a country feel. It just happened.
I havnt played any country for years. Go figure!!! Good to see you again!!

I saw someone write Jerry Garcia, and I have to agree. Very creative tune. Really dug it.

I just dont see it. But then again I hardly listened to the Grateful. Maybe I should start.. Thanks Len

... I'm not a big "Dead" listener either. However, your voice is quite in the same mold. Meaning, if he were alive, this is something he could sing.
Ah, forget it. Great song,
Dave
Good light song.
musichead
Im old now. So I keep it light. Haha. Thanks for the listen!!

.. got those Beatlish elements we'ld expect .. and some country .. all the individual influences are blended really well .. that the overall sound becomes more important. Vocals and backing are really good .. some backing after 2:50 could be a little better in sync (small nit) .. bass is excellent and holds everything together .. I'd like to hear some more realistic brass and some "wa wa oo's" myself :o)
As a demo it's very good and really gets all the ideas across- as is the purpose of a demo, lots of potential.
Downloaded- fun and well put together my friend.

Im taking this one to the studio. I will of course fix the singing in the studio version. I owe a big thanks to you for helping me get this far with production.
I learned a lot from you. You also taught me to to take the songs a bit farther. Thanks Holmes!!

Good genre bending makes for a great song. Is it pop? Country? Does it matter - it's a fine song altogether.

Its my mellowness coming through. I like to call it Middle aged rock. And you are right who cares what its called. I enjoyed playing and singing this song..Thanks for the listen!!!

Yes, I agree with all of the above. Solid lead vocal, some nice guitar and bass licks.
Isn't it funny how songs seem to come in bunches? I have the same thing with my music!
musichead
They do come in bunches. Its just a matter of time to get to them all. Thanks for the listen and stop over!!!

Great song and production - love the harmonies!
No worries about the production - it's rough around the edges but kind of suits the song -
I like it !
musichead
Its rough because Im too lazy to redo it all at home. Ill fix things up when I record at the real studio. My production at home has got better. I found if you record clean and set the levels, Then there isnt much production. Thanks for the stop!!
PrototypeEightyOne
