great potential here...
Sure it is a little rough, but listening past that, I *really* like the overall idea here, and I'd suggest working on this diamond, this could be turned into a very powerful piece. My brain is already sculpting where I hear this going... starting off softer than you initially start (maybe with a single-strum bass pattern at first, with soft synth, then start building with more percussion, then lead into your chorus, and maybe use different synth voices for the chorus to set it apart more (and different bass run, although I really like the bass run you have too, don't lose that one.) Then you need to work on recording this a little cleaner... are you playing real drums there (from the "percussion backup by Holley" comment I wasn't sure.) Anyway, this sounds like it then needs a sultry voice singing over it, or a lamenting saxaphone, or something.
ttfn,
Drakonis

Thanks
Thanks Drakonis for this much valuable feedback is much appreciated! I will definitely keep you suggestions in mind. I hope to have a improved version after the New Year when I hopefully will have more time time to work on it.
Thanks again!
Holley :)

Very cool groove
I like the interplay of the different keys and the steady bass. Is that you on drums - or loops? Guess I should read your bio before listening and see what you usually play. Like Drak said - keep up with this - it has great potential.

Oooo-
Yes, a sultry voice would be perfect. Or a sultry synth, or a sultry sax. A strong, flowing melody line, either composed or improvised over this. Recording should be quite a bit cleaner - but I'll assume that this is just a demo, or a sketch for you to work from. That mallet sound could stand a little variation, too. Maybe sit out for a couple of eight bar phrases, then jump in again. Great start, though. I think it's great that you're asking for suggestions and feedback while this is a work in progress! It's a good length, too. Good luck as you work on it!

very cool
almost flowing like the drums. My only crit would be maybe to let the reverb down and the chorus flange you got going on( i dont mean take it out all the way but drop it for a portion of the song just to give the ear a rest then bring it back in). The mallet is a nice touch. Just my opinion. Enjoyed thanks

The first
20 seconds in to this, I got a phil Collins impression. NIce, really enjoy this. It has a nice feel. You might try on a similar piece some lite bass scales or runs to give a little variation and change up.

Way to go. Will stay tuned for the up date at eleven.......... :-)

wow
the audio spacing is awesome. When the track started, I wasn't sure where the sound was coming from. Sounds intense on my BOSE. Lot's of room front and center for whatever you want it to support.(vocals, lead parts, etc.)

BTW
Is this an analog recording with a room mic onto tape? Great 'live' sound. If this isn't live, I would love to know how you are getting that sound.

nice start
i like this a lot! the overall mood is powerful - this could turn into a great song!

the opening descending chords are cool - but it seems to be heading into territory that many, many songs have done before (which might be OK, just mentioning it) - is there any way to change it around a bit so it's a little unexpected? (like some chord inversions or something?)

my only real complaint is that the xylophone towards the end (which I like a lot) sort of falls apart rhythmically. now, if that were tied to a lyric that is talking about falling apart, or losing it somehow, that could be pretty cool as is. otherwise, it needs a little fixing up...

overall this shows much promise!

thanks
