TAKE YOUR DREAMS

Description
This is a green song, written at pool side, San Pedro Sula, Honduras at the Gran Hotel, some years back when I sang for the chain through central america. I finally did something about it after singing it around the country for years in a folk venue. I had some friends help me with the various parts. Patty Nicholes is the backup vocal with John Fine who did a fine job on guitar. GarageBand make it possible for me to complete this piece of work.

Lyrics
Ah, I'm looking over fences to the lofty mountains there
The clouds they float so softly from the heights they come so fair
It's really quite a lovely place, one to shed you cares
Where the palms trees are swaying in a breath like summers air
Where little tropical fishes swim in little tropical streams
It's a land of a paradise to match a dreamers dreams

Chorus

You may go there if you like though difficult it seems
but If you go there my friends you will have to take your dreams

You start by traveling around till you come to island
The changes you are seeing there are heavenly oh so grand
You have to go oh so much futher though impossible it seems
But travel you must go to find the land of many dreams

Chorus

I hope we can open up a little portion of our minds
It seems so very necessary in these changing times
For once we have started on out pathway of life there's not turning back
So you;d better keep your keeping on and never give into slack
Say,

Chorus (ad enfinitum)

Well, I'm trying
and some people say, "I'm very". I can't hear little forgs, crickets, small birds and certain tones of children's and woman's voices. Probably due to the permanent 4-5 tones ringing through my audio cortex simultaneously. It rally gets chaotic which each side is ringing a different pitch. Hate it when that happens. If you would like to have a hand at it, please by all means, have a go. That's what here is about.

Thank you for the comments and time for such.

Nice song with a relaxed island feel
Good vocals - well matched by the guitar. Did you program the drums and do this track by track or is it live to GB?

Thanks Bud
for the appreciative comment. The drums were done on a RX 107, an old roland machine and mixed through a Mackie board with some prerecorded cuts and brought down now into the Powerbook g4 for what I can or can't do for a mix.

It's a perk that my little tunes are appreciated. Thanks amigo

Rik No Work Now
Rik laying on the beach, drinking spiced rum until he can't remember his own name. Lovely feel, great voice and a bass guitar that evokes more of the spiced rum. Nice moment of blue skies, soft surf and all worries gone!

I like
the low-cal Mescal. That's without the worm in the bottom of the bottle. I hope you didn't forget the sunblock.

Thankx amigo.

Hey Len,
As Billy Joel sings,,,,,,,, It's still rock n roll to me. I have always enjoyed the music of the Caribbean, all the way back to the Bellafonte days and calipso. Which this has an amount of such to it as well.

Thank you for the comment and appreciation, helps me through the day.

Vic
It's just down the road a little ways. I recommend the beaches of Oaxaca as there are some virgin coves, well almost pristine, that you can live around and off of the land. But you'll need a long, long , long extension cord to plug in with that array equipment you have. hehe

Thanks man for the words.

very unusual
I love the way it moves, it has a great live feel. The song it's self is great. This deserves a lot more attention than it has received. Unbelievably catchy it has hooks all around it. What a magnet, and one that pulls you inj on the first play. Sorry I was late getting here.
